Description Name:  Diamond Charm

Nicknames:  Di, Prince Charming

Sex:  Male

Pony Type:  Unicorn

Special Talent:  Charisma

Parents:  Rarity x Luggage Cart*

Siblings:  Velvet Fashion

Personality:

Friendly and laid back, Di doesn't seem to have a care in the world.  That doubled with his confident demeanor has endeared him to his fans.  However, it takes a lot to actually get close to Di as he's used to having fans and business connections, not friends.  He tends to maintain a bit of an emotional distance from others that is hidden from most ponies by his amiable nature.

Background:

Born and raised in Manehattan, Diamond Charm is very much a city boy.  He'd built himself a rather comfortable life there too.  Between starring in Bridleway plays and modeling some of his mother's latest fashion designs, he'd become a stallion of considerable renown.  Di couldn't go two feet in Manehattan without being recognized and, frankly, he loved that fact.  Life was good for this charismatic stallion.  And then, his parents threw a wrench in that perfect life.  They announced that they'd be moving back to Ponyville with Di's little sister.  He was welcome to join them, of course, but his parents made it clear that if he wanted to stay in Manehattan, they would understand.  To his credit, there is one thing that Diamond Charm loves more than his fame and that would be his family.  There wasn't really a choice as far as he concerned.  So, he left the spotlight and made the move to Ponyville with his family.  Unfortunately, his first impression did little to endear him to the town.  To him, it came off as the hick town he'd feared it would be.  Still, whether he likes it or not, he's going to have to try to adapt to it somehow.

Notes:

Rarity might have put him in a dress or two as a colt.  And she might have pictures.  And Di might be totally
mortified if Rarity ever showed them to anyone.

He was a popular Bridleway actor, but the move to Ponyville has left him looking for a new job.  For now, he's helping his mother out with her tailoring business.

Due to his star status, he has met all sorts of celebrities.  He occasionally uses his connections to do things like get invitations to fancy events and so on.

He's actually a pretty epic brother.

Notable Relationships:

Rarity

He adores his mother and patiently puts up with all of the costumes she asks him to try on.  They're also comfortable enough to give each other honest feedback which has helped both of them advance their separate careers.

Luggage Cart*

Luggage Cart always made time to go to Di's school plays and so on as a colt and has never expressed anything other than pride in what his son does for a living.  Di is on very friendly terms with his dad and goes to him first whenever he needs emotional support.

Velvet Fashion

Di is the cool big brother everypony wishes they had.  He spends a lot of time with her and encourages her to follow whatever interests her at any given moment.  He is a bit overprotective sometimes, but Velvet doesn't see that as a bad thing.

Rainbow Rose

Di is one of Rose's many celebrity crushes.  She's a mess around him.

Apple Trend

Di and Apple Trend got off on the wrong hoof because Di mistook him for one of his fangirls when he first came to Ponyville.  While Di is apologetic about it, Trend is stubbornly holding a grudge.

Trenderhoof

Being a fellow celebrity, Di relates to Trenderhoof in a way he can't relate to other ponies in Ponyville.  It also helps that they've been on friendly terms for awhile since Trenderhoof wrote an article on Di awhile back.

*Luggage Cart is a background pony (the bellhop from the Made in Manehattan episode) who technically doesn't even have a name.  Luggage Cart is the name given to him on the wiki so that's what I went with.
