Description
  The loud lock's turning echos through the mansion. The doors creak open as it's pushed and just barely knocks the wall they're attached to. 5 sets of steps mindfully enter into the grand hall of the mansion, a dank room now littered with dust that floats in the air from the sudden, or more so, unusual movement of the front door. Multiple hallways extend from the grand hall that disappear into darkness, the only movement inside is that of the flicking candle lights that hang from the walls and fractured chandelier. Two escalating stairways lay on either side of the extensive room leading to the second and on going floors. Worn and tattered carpets line the floor outside the entrance landing, covering broken or fractured floor boards. A massive hole spreads underneath the left stairwell, leading to the floor underneath. What windows are seen are boarded up from the inside, leaving that of only a stained glass window above the doorway, depicting that of a Man and Woman in royal attire. The light from the full moon and star filled sky leaves a faint duplicate of the window to cover the open floor of the hall. Dying plants stay potted in their first and last resting place, paintings are ripped or shattered, only those of the same Man and Woman stay untouched from the wear of time or vandalism. Everything almost perfectly identical to that of memory, just a little more so dark and dead.
"... Never thought we'd ever come back here.... ever..." Tails faintly spoke, the halls of this place too familiar to him.
Sonic looks around and pulls two of the lit candles from the wall, handing the other to Shadow, "It's just an old house now. They're always creepy at night."
"Why'd we even come here at night? Couldn't we have waited till morning?" Shadow utters, looking around the old place.
"I-I don't want Knuckles to be lost in this place... not after what happened here last time." Amy rubs her arms, frantically looking around her. As if waiting to see something appear.
"Didn't you say you got rid of all those ghosts when you were here?" Silver looks in the direction of Sonic, Amy and Tails, recalling what they've told himself and the others about that time.
"Well, we should have." Tails looks at the darkened hallways.
"What if there are some lef--" Silver gets cut off by Amy's sudden burst.
"I don't want any of those things coming near me again! If they do I-I'm gonna knock them out of their paranormal minds!!" Amy huffs, remembering what they did to her last time.
"Don't worry about that Amy, if anything's to remember we got rid of that big one. They're King I think?" Sonic moves the candle stick around in front of him, the dust in the hall has settled from when the doors have opened.
"W-What was that?!" Tails looks around, getting closer to Sonic.
  To the rest nothing is heard.
"... I don't hear anything, Tails. We haven't even gotten 10 feet of the door." Shadow sighs, glancing at Tails.
"I-I heard something... it.. it was like laughing."
"Tails if this is some kind of joke to lighten the mood I don't think it's funny!" Amy huffs annoyed with him.
"... But... I'm sure of it." Tails looks away into the grand hall.
"Hey, Let's all just take a deep breath and calm down. We're freaking each other out even before we've even gotten in." Sonic looks at the others, "Come on, it's not like Knuckles would just drag us all her to play a prank or anything. He's probably stuck somewhere or lost."
"But for hours...?" Silver looks at the chandelier, lifting up his hand creating a small orb of his power to make light, "And I'm pretty sure the Chaos emerald wouldn't have just gotten itself stuck in a tiny room in here all on it's own... right?"
The group goes quiet. There wasn't even any sound in the house to fill in their silence. Until an echo emanating a roar of a door scrapping crossed the ground and crashing to a wall bellows out from every inch and crack in the mansion. Tails jumps and gets behind Sonic who swiftly turned around to face the sound of the roar. A hallway in the far east of the grand hall begins to light up with the flickering of multiple candle flames. Everyone in the group begins to feel uneasy.
"We should go find him then, better than standing here wasting time." Shadow holds up his candle in the direction of the echo.
"Yeah, the more time we waist, the longer we'll be in here." Silver agrees with Shadow, "Should we split up to cover more area or..."
"N-No.... let's stay together. Strength in numbers, especially here." Tails starts messing with his fingers afraid that something will happen much like last time..
"... If anyone sees anything... ghost like. We'll go the other way ok? I don't want to see those freaky eyes again." Amy rubs her arms once more.
Sonic holds up his candle like Shadows, "... let hope Knuckles hasn't done anything--"
A low muted laugh rings from someplace, it sounds oddly familiar yet distorted.
"... to ... get himself hurt..."

The group begins to make their way into the mansion, ascending the stairway, and into the hallway to the east, where the roar warned them of what is to come... what has happened... and to be afraid of it.
