To be honest, this concept (like some other ones) is based on a design that I made when I was a little boy, I don't even know how many years ago. Gotta post some comparison between old and new versions, sooner or later!

Beautiful work, I love the unusual shape of it, it looks so malleable and fluid as if it's constantly moving and changing form, very dynamic and interesting instead of just portraying a shadow as "static" and fixed in shape, and I really like how it looks like little pieces at breaking off around the edges. Something thing else I really like actually is the placement of the eyes close together and at the end of the 'head', it reminds me of a gulper eel a little bit. ^^
