I've gotta admit, this is truly amazing.
When I first saw it I was like stunned. I've always been a fan of arts but never really made some myself. It was this very picture which inspired me and woke my interest in vector graphics. It's only been 2 days ago, but I've already done some drawings. Of course compared to yours it's just a bunch of crap
I'm curious about how long you have been working on this ?
Also which tools and functions you use ?
You said you use the pencil and the smooth tool, but is it only those two ?
I kind of tend to use pencil, direct selection and simplify, but I guess it's almost the same.
I'd be thankful if you could answer those questions.

Good lord, this is beautifully done. The detail is just so amazing...I can't even begin to fathom how much time and detail went into this. How in the world did you make the lines so perfectly smooth?

Truth be told, the artistic style of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker really provided a lot of inspiration for my tribal work. Also, a lot of the tattoo and symbol designs used for characters in the Nomura-designed Final Fantasy games.
