Description
This is another SF weapon: It fires two "short chain" polymers that bond when exposed to air forming a threadlike material. The gun fires this material at 15,000 PSI (which is enough IIRC to cut steel.) effectivly the weapon launches long threads of this material at high speeds which can pierce all but the most molecularly dense armors--when it impacts a target vibrations along its length makes the non penetrated length whip about tearing huge holes in whatever it hits as it "burrows" inside a target.Related content

Monofilament wire's not just for traps anymore. I think this is a good way to actually use it offensively that doesn't risk cutting yourself apart in the process. I never would have thought of some way to shoot it from a gun...

Yeah. Free monofilament is dangerous. If it were held across a fixed distnace to make a monofilament sword, it'd be ok. Or strung across hallways or open areas as traps.

There is another way to fire it---shells--think shotgun like perhaps or less "explosive" that launches a either a rocket shell that splits (becoming bola like) or firiging an expanding "net" and creating a cheeseslicer effect.

Those sound fun. Definitely a cool weapon. The size suggests a small ammo capacity, though.
