"The gentle knock of their helmets is all they get sometimes. A whispered “stay safe” or “thank god.” rasped from the suit comms. “I love you.” said so softly it might be an illusion to anyone else listening in. Layers of ceramic and polymer and carbon acting like skin (and Kaidan swears he can feel Shepard through all of it) as he pulls the black helmet towards his. And they stay like that for just a moment - unmoving, breathing together.Stay safe. Thank god. I love you."

(EDIT UPDATE 6/22 - Attempted to fix the scale issues using skew in photoshop. Not sure if you all will notice, but I'm happier with it like this, its a tiny improvement. yay.)

I am in complete love with this piece. There's not a huge fandom for MShenko, which is a damn shame, but I feel like this really does the couple for me -- they're not just two people in love, but two soldiers, in uniform and constantly fighting. This really captures a tender moment that speaks to me and reminds me of my own Shepard with Kaidan. You've done a fantastic job.

I'm not sure why, but the power behind this work hit me like a brick made of feels. I just stared at it for a good five seconds and started tearing up in the middle of a cafe. There's just so much emotion!! Very well done.

I had the same thing happen! Random mshenko feels around a bunch of strangers who just wouldn't get it. Ugh, getting emotional over video game characters in public makes me so uncomfortable, but I'm willing to deal with it to look at this perfect picture

I was so absurdly happy when, in ME3, we could have MShepard romance Kaidan. The sheer chemistry between these two ... it always left me breathless wondering what would happen next between these two. I mean, in the first segment of the trilogy, we had them getting close as friends, with Ash's death further cementing these two together. Then we had the 'betrayal' of Shepard 'joining' Cerberus, an organization that they, together, spent so much time trying to tear down. And lastly, the resolution that culminated in them finally getting their heads on straight and getting together.
While some fans may be disappointed that you couldn't romance him in the first two games (to a degree, so am I), I wasn't as I felt that it gave more meaning to the two of them getting together.

This really is beautiful, you, as the viewer, feel like you have stumbled upon a very intimate moment (even though both are covered head to toe), they are sharing space, soaking in that moment of quiet and unity that comes before/or after entering the fray. Really lovely.
