Description
Title: Hall of OriginMediums: Graphite & Prisma Colored Pencil
For this college drawing assignment, we were to use 1 or 2 point perspective.
I chose to focus on Arceus with a trainer (technically me) after they played the Azure Flute. Arceus is holding Dread Plate, I suppose.
Really its more Spear Pillar I depicted, since I didn't just want to draw a glass floor and Arceus.
I can see how I got marked down on it; the shading should have been blended much more...
I accentuated the red parts a lot over the actual image, and the only part of the Azure Flute you can see unless you look close is the red jewel.. And darn it is was not completely centered with the final product.
Since I can't get critiqued, how did I do on shading (besides not blending it, and the step with the triangle on it as I was told about that shading in my class critique)?
EDIT 12/4/10: I've taken the suggestion of *Lord-Evell and my art teacher and edited a few things. :>
However, I cannot submit it because it was chose to go in the school art show in March! I will show what was updated in April next year then. ;D
Arceus, Azure Flute, Pokemon (c) Nintendo, etc.
Trainer, drawing (c) me

This looks magnificent. The pencil work captures the eerie vibe of the original scene and its music.

I really like this piece, so I'm going to attempt to give you further thing to have in mind. As teach said, it need a more blending. But a few things that hit me as odd... there is a lot of hardshadow things going on, even a few stones have one, yet there is no shadow on the stairs? See it as it is Arceus shining, so it should be a few small shadows at the bottom in the stairs. Also, I see zigzag patterns that hint the top of stairsteps, yet I cannot see them.
And, i give you a little slack on this next, because it's a training thing, but the bottom of the poles aren't symmetrical. The farthest two are good, but closest two are totally different. Also, the groundstones don't feel like in perspective either... and the groundstones to the right of the trainer are really not straight XD
I know the things I mentioned are hard to accomplish right, but there are ways to do it. But anyway, I like the drawing since I'm weak for good drawings with perspective and shiny stuff. And anything that say "Hey, I'm awesome, BOW TO ME!"

Ah yes, I did notice the stairs were off.
Its hard to draw symmetrical freehand. I notice a bunch of mistakes as such now after the fact, and I can't really change much. (Most of which you help me point out. ;3 )
As for the ground stones, Teacher taught us a way to do checkers in perspective, so I tries to modify that. Still was off... Plus I didn't have an accurate strait ruler, so symmetry was whack.
Thank you for the critique. I do appreciate it. ;3
Now I have ideas what to work on for later things~

It's not easy, but realizing mistakes is better than never see them at all. ;D
Also, rulers are something that should be used. I'm also guilty for not using them every now and then and later regret it. Like bricks. Fucking bricks.

Yes, rulers instead of straight edges. Although it is strait, the measurements are helpful.

lol I don't really know. Except that the shading should have been blended more. He said that.
