. Victoria opened her eyes as she heard two small voices calling out to her. Immediately recognizing her children, she watched as they ran to her with tears in their eyes. Pulling them close, she licked them both and didn't even have to ask what was bothering them. Tomorrow they were to be assessed on their skills and titled from strongest to weakest, Victoria believed it was a terrible and unjust system but there was nothing she could do to change what was. As the Alpha's children Quinn and Dahlia would be pressured to rank the highest possible, and Anthony definitely expected them to succeed. They had been playing with the other pups the last time she'd seen them, but clearly their father had put a stop to what he described a 'useless activity'. After a moment of silence it was Dahlia that spoke first, "He...He yelled at me." Shushing her daughter with a lick to her cheek, Victoria sighed and restrained her anger for later. She and Anthony had talked about his treatment of their pups, but per usual he ignored her words and again he had hurt her children.

She knew they'd be strong and charming wolves since she'd birthed them, and there was no doubt in her mind saying they wouldn't do well. They had potential but clearly that wasn't enough for Anthony. She had forbid him from training the pups before it was their time, but she knew sometimes when she was away he would do so, and this was usually the result. Anthony was no trainer, he had no patience, and expected things no pup could ever achieve. Putting him out of her mind, Victoria looked down at her whimpering pups and began to sing a lullaby. No matter how upset her voice always managed to soothe them, and this time was no different.

"Hush now my sweet babies, your loved by me you know,
you'll never lose my care no matter where you go.

Their is no need to worry, so don't you cry or fret,
a title won't change you, no matter what you get."

As she finished the last line, she looked down again and saw both pups had begun to smile.

- Given the kind of father they had, Quinn and his sister Dahlia only had their mother for comfort and though I didn't put it in Quinn's bio, his fondest memories are of his mother singing to him and his sister. Taking Anthony out of the picture they actually had an okay puphood ;o;
- I've also done a bit of debating and decided my second DoTW's character will likely be Dahlia, you can see a rough of her here --> Her colors and design should stay the same but I'll probably change her adult appearance to be a fluffy monster, but for now and as a pup she had only mildly long fur.
