So I decided to try and make a plush PokΓ©mon and am planning to make my whole team!As I have never made anything like this before, I was advised to start with my ditto, Squidge.
This was also my first attempt at embroidery so please excuse how sloppy it is!
I am super happy with him/it and I just keep hugging him!
He is made from minky cuddle fabric (the pattern I made was easy and only had 3 pieces) and stuffed firmly with toy filling and plastic weighting beads. Took me about nine hours xD

Oh my gosh, I want to squish it! XD So cute! btw, do you know any good tuts for embroiding by hand? I'll have to learn since I don't have a machine either.

He enjoys being squished very much (which is good because he doesn't get a lot of choice)

Ahhh Thank so much for that site, it's going to help a lot! It was wrecking my mind how I could make plush parts like the small eyes or mouth without an embroidery/sewing machine (I was even going to buy one until I saw how much I needed u.u). So until I can get one I will learn this method (which also looks fun!) Now all I need is to find plush fabric. I'm thinking on doing either an Eevee, Horsea, Guagsire, or Dratini, even Pikachu looks pretty easy. X3

I want a sewing machine too.. One day I will afford one! xD
Until then I'm pretty sure you can do it all by hand, it just takes longer and seems to take a few trial runs to get the stitches to look neat. It is nice to do while listening to music or watching tv though.
I like seeing other people's plushies, its very inspiring. I can't wait to see what you make!

Thank you! I embroidered the mouth using what I think is called a brick stitch? It was my first time trying stitching like this. It took hours. xD

Yes, the stitching took a lot longer than I thought it would, but at least I am prepared for next time. xD

Heh I was wondering if anyone would ask about that. It was from one on those machines that you put a coin in and turn the crank... thing. I have a few different ones, they were full of stickers.

Hmm.. I don't know really. Here in the uk they are in most supermarkets and toy shops. This particular machine was in the cinema. We always check it because its almost always filled with pokemon goodies! ^^

This is really sweet Ditto and it's well done. I like to make plushies too but I've never made Pokemon plushies. Seeing this makes me want to sew my own Ditto! Too bad I don't have that kind of fabric.

Sloppy? I think it's good. Better than I could ever do. The only actual problem I have is with the mouth, and really, it's just a personal preference thing. I think the mouth should be shorter across, and a little more open. But, like I said, personal preference and this is still awesome.

Thanks! The mouth took too long lol. I looked at loads of reference pics for ditto's mouth and this is actually shorter than it should be. Next time I think I'll just go with a line for a closed mouth. xD
Bonus with ditto is that you can't really go wrong. ^^
