Description these fluffy bunnies literally coat the grounds at UVIC, and are pretty much pets to (some of) the residence students, as we are not allowed to bring our own. They're domestic breeds that got released on the grounds and have taken over! ... um. anyways. These four babies are part of a group that number around 10.

I personally like this shot because of the similar "poses" of the two groups of rabbits, how they are basically in the same position, but mirror images. (my favorite one of the babies is also in this photo - the white/grey one ) While the positioning is somewhat lucky, the placement of the apples along the edge of the concrete is not. I like the zigzag aestheticaly, and the rabbits spend a lot of time on both, so i thought i'd show them both.

border added in photoshop.

Awww Its been so long since I've seen a grey baby Netherland Dwarf, it looks like you got Netherlands, English, and Holland Dwarfs there, all three are great little bunnies, especially the Netherlands, keep an eye on the grey one, he/she will start showing some SERIOUS personality in a few weeks.

silverrowan In reply to gali-kani-ra [2006-05-30 06:27:15 +0000 UTC]

wait a tick.... they actually look like some sort of breed!? i figured they'd be "mutts"
did you mean the lightgrey/white or the darkgrey/black? because the black/gray ones around campus dont show much personality... but the paler one has. i think. i kinda thought it was bunny terrets...
almost makes me wish i was still on campus.

gali-kani-ra In reply to silverrowan [2006-05-31 19:26:20 +0000 UTC]

Usually the Netherlands (black/grey) don't show personality till about 1 years, but also outdoor ones sometimes lose that aspect of the breed. I'm a bit of a dork when it comes to rabbits and ferrets, wierd combination I know XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

silverrowan In reply to gali-kani-ra [2006-05-31 20:36:47 +0000 UTC]

aaah. the dark ones around UVIC haven't shown any personality, the only two i've ever seen that have somthing different about their behaviors are the light grey/white one in this pic and another one that hung around the cafiteria and would literally chase people for food.

dont ferrits .... eat. rabbits?
eh, they're both cute and fuzzy (though ferrits smell. a lot. - my grandfather had on that liked stealing shoes)

Yeah, when my bunny was still alive though my Vinnie feared her with his furry little hide. He'd literally claw at my legs to be up away from her. She was a piece o work, Sugar XD.

silverrowan In reply to gali-kani-ra [2006-06-07 23:39:56 +0000 UTC]

wait.... Vinnie ran away from the rabbit? or am i reading this wrong?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gali-kani-ra In reply to silverrowan [2006-06-08 01:50:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'd take him downstairs and he'd start shaking when I got near the rabbit cage and my brother would have the rabbit out and Vincent would run away from it with a panic chitter going

silverrowan In reply to gali-kani-ra [2006-06-08 03:46:24 +0000 UTC]

that is hillarious. your ferrit ran away from the bunny. silly thing

gali-kani-ra In reply to silverrowan [2006-06-08 12:54:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah >> The bunny had arthritis too, but she was an angry little thing. She had a serious attitude problem, and no fear, Vincent is the biggest Chicken you will ever meet.

silverrowan In reply to gali-kani-ra [2006-06-08 20:18:48 +0000 UTC]

:snicker: silly ferrit. was she a giant bunny?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gali-kani-ra In reply to silverrowan [2006-06-09 13:54:09 +0000 UTC]

Nope she as a Netherland Dwarf: only 3.3 pounds. She was a tiny little thing with a REALLY big attitude.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

silverrowan In reply to gali-kani-ra [2006-06-10 01:11:16 +0000 UTC]

going so far as to attack a ferrit, who, in the normal order of things would eat her... yah. very big attitude.

Awww, they're so cute! I like the composition, and the way there are two bunnies on both of the apples.

About how many bunnies are there running around the campus? I think I'd be in paradise there... though they might soon multiply by the thousands and totally take over! :3

yah, i liked the pairing two, im so glad i got a couple (literally just 2 ) of photos before they werent paired anymore

that is exacly what happened.
in pretty much any (grassed or grass with a bit of concreete) area the size of my res room, there would be at least 4 rabbits. 10 around teh caf. there are LOTS.

Things like this make me wish we had proper school campuses in Finland too. Having a scary amount of rabbits running around would always cheer up my day (as long as they're not the killer type). But thanks for the comment on my page, you definetly earned that favourite.

yah, they do do wonders for cheering one up. especially when the little fuzballs recognize you as one who gives food and lets you pet them they're sooooo soft.
