Description
What with Undertale's two year anniversary and the release of a new Metroid game that a lot of the people I follow are super excited for--I thought it was only fitting I got around to finishing this piece. Took around eight hours from start to finish. Would have been a little quicker but Photoshop decided to crash on me at one point. Ah well. This was still a lot of fun and I think I learned a bit.Hope you dig it!

Wonderful way to represent Undyne. You did a great job because you captured very well her badass nature and fighting attitude.

Well, it's not "new" - strictly speaking it's a remake of an older game - but you're right, people are excited and I'm one of them. Just realized that it was released yesterday - yikes! I have to get moving!
This is a fun piece, too. Certainly very timely.

Ahh okay. I've played maybe two minutes of the original Metroid before giving up in a fit of frustration hahah. I love watching people play them though.
Particularly Dookieshed and BrettUltimus.
But yeah, thanks for taking the time to comment--I really appreciate it.

I've played the original Metroid, too - via Zero Mission - so I know exactly what you mean, hehe. (As a small update, I've since gotten the new game, enjoyed it immensely so far. ^_^ There's a learning curve to it, though, and in fact I've died about five times already.)
Yeah, Metroid's one of a couple of franchises that are huge inspirations to me (Pokemon's another, obviously...another, believe it or not, is Kirby). Samus is entirely the reason one of my characters is a space bounty hunter at all (no fancy suit, but still), and recurring space dragon Ridley is part of my inspiration behind my own race of dimension-hopping space dragons. So bottom line, any new developments in the Metroid franchise piques my interest pretty much instantly.

Pokemon's always been important to me. And Zelda. But I think one of the hugest inspirations to me has to be the Tales series.
As an aside, my first time playing a Kirby game was with Triple Deluxe. They're great games but somehow I'd missed out on them growing up. (Probably because I used to hate Pink soooo much, hahaha. Or I was just busy with other games.)

My first Kirby game was the 64 game, The Crystal Shards; I've been hooked ever since. They somehow manage to include humor and action in every game, and that's before you consider the tint of horror lying beneath the saccharine surface.

I've watched it played once as a kid and it stuck in my mind so hard. I remember a friend getting this javelin-like power and then immediately losing it and sucking the little star up or something. I wanna buy it but it's like $50 now or some shit. Last I looked anyway. As for horror aspects...I try not to dig that deep into kids games. Typically.
