As you make your way inland, the plains slowly give way to softer sand, and hotter temperatures. As you make your way onward, you see a shimmer in the distance. Thirsty and believing you have found water, you pick up the pace to a trot, hoping to quench your parched throat. But as you move on, you realize that the shimmering lake isn’t getting any closer. Halting, you,

A] Decide to continue onward. You’ve come this far, no use in turning back
B] Turn back and try to escape the unbearable desert heat.

Raider spent years wandering the desert and calling it his home. He knows the hardships of crossing this barren land and he won't turn back. His mares were not used to this terrain, but they trusted their new leader enough to stick by him and keep trudging through the sand, even when the hot sun almost seemed to burn their hides. Their two companions loyally followed the tired horses.
