Chapter 13 of Werewolf Tale 2-----------------------------------------
As of now, the original Werewolf Tale's new draft is back with Sean for the second read-through. Not sure when I'll hear back from him, but as I said, I will try and make this current draft, edits aside, the final one.
In the meantime, I'm getting more ideas for events and situations that I'm hoping to put Alex and Shane into. A major one is coming up.
For now, enjoy.
EDIT: has a commission detailing a scene of this chapter. Check it out here: kekswolf.deviantart.com/art/An…

Alright, as I hinted at in the upload of this scene's illustration, I do find the interaction between Shane and Alex quite fascinating. Mostly from sides of Shane due to him being the experienced one of the two and very much concerned about the consequences of Alex's diet. Or to put it into more basic terms, he got to eat stuff so his stomach does not do the thinking for him. Which is a legitimate issue that, as I probably did say at an earlier point (but if not, then I may as well now), does actually make the image of a beast that only acts out of a primal need to kill a lot more realistic in my opinion as naturally if you consider the biology behind it, a wolf and most other predators do have a hunting instinct, which acts when a need arises. Once the need is satisfied, the instinct goes inactive. Hence, rather than having a bloodbath for the sake of making it gruesomely terrifying, it adds a spin that seems more realistic while retaining the fantastic elements that come with therianthropy.
Now, of course since Alex is a teenager, and I realize that I started readin this story back when I was in high school, I cannot help but to realize that a single-person appartment might be a bit more practical, if you are a therianthrope, who transforms under circumstances regarding celestial bodies. It is hard to keep up a social life that way, even in the most inner circle. And to keep the illusion up that everything is all normal.

All the more reason for Alex to value what friends he has, especially after he's trusted them with knowing what he is.
And yeah, the monthly bloodbath is a worn out idea. Would make sense if said werewolf was a remorseless killer, and I have seen that done in a few stories, but I just can't stand that idea versus what I've done. Makes more sense, and it's more fun, for the werewolf to be aware while dealing with something like that hunger.
Shane will get some more time in the coming chapters, but it's his family I'm looking forward to detailing the most.

Why is Shane so concerned about hurting people, though? I mean...the guy's a murderer already. He killed that girl at the beginning of all this.

There's some new dialogue in the draft I sent to Sean the other day that brings that up. I'll post it below. (There is an event I'm going to bring up in a later chapter where he explains a bit more about the event that snapped him into this mindset, and more about something that happened when he bit Alex.)
-------------------------------
“You say that like you want to get close to them.”
“No, I say that because I don’t know what ideas you’ve put in their heads about me.”
The response Alex wanted to give, that it was all the dead animals, along with Angela, that was causing concern with them, never left his mouth. By the time he stopped thinking about it, his dormant fear of his friends figuring out what he had to do come the full moon had returned. “They’ve seen as much of you as me. What else is there to know?”
“Maybe the fact that I didn’t mean to kill her? That she was threatening my livelihood and the things that mattered to me before we started fighting?”
Alex refrained from scoffing at that statement. “She’s still dead.”
“I don’t see you being passive about things you care about. Why should I be?”
“So that’s it? She’s dead and you just don’t care?”
“I would’ve, if she hadn’t been a werewolf and doing what I said she was.” Alex’s eyes widened halfway through that sentence. “Don’t believe me?”
Alex was torn on what to say as his memories of that night came rushing back. Angela’s behavior and words, her wanting to avoid a hospital in favor of healing on her own, now made more sense, but he’d sustained injuries that were just as bad and he’d survived. That was the train of thought that focused his next words. “That you didn’t mean to kill her? No.”
“Why?”
“Because you attacked me and let me go.”
“I let her go too. You didn’t keep throwing swipes at me after I did so.”
