When she woke up Kena felt weak, but all the pain, fear and weakness was nothing to the words the sheriff spoke to her. Her belly was no longer round, no egg was nearby, her child... it couldn't be... Her magic flared up as she tried to feel something, anything, her egg couldn't be gone, it had to be there! Maybe she didn't lay the egg, maybe her foggy memory was warped due to the blood loss. But even though she tried so hard... she could feel nothing besides the weak pulsation of her own blood.
