Full-view, plz. As in, really.[edit] Well. So. In all fairness, having watched most of the cut-scenes with Vexen now, I shall admit it's not as bad as I first feared. The rubber-face is still... odd, and half the time his voice is horrid, but when pissed enough he sounds quite alright... And his 3D rendered self is downright gorgeous. Oh, so gorgeous...

That's supposed to be Nomura, there. And a random panel of Square-Enix decision-makers. And all the newly 3D-rendered CoM characters. Oh, and all my heartfelt cynicism and bitterness.
Inspired, of course, by the trailer for KHIIFM & Re:CoM ... Which was very, very pretty indeed. All sparkly and shiny and the voices kicked ass and... ... wtf?
Right. But I'm not bitter. X3
This is therapy. I still hope Vexen will get to have more dignity in the actual game, because man... what we saw in the trailer was not the Vexen I've grown to cherish and love.
I'm going through a lot of trouble to import your game and give you my money, Square - don't disappoint me now. Hell hath no fury like a fangirl scorned. u.u

Ah, dear...it's true. Poor Vexen gets totally SHAFTED almost all the time and it makes me sad. I think his CoM rendition looks quite pretty though...his eyes are one of the first things that got my attention. So vibrant and expressful and WHOA. He's not a total spaz...like in the comics...
*kneads forehead stressfully* Let's not go there.
Anyway, last panel made me laugh. I love Vexen's expression. Boy, does he looks aaaangry. 8D;;

I'm glad Marluxia's voice wasn't girly. That would've been overdoing it. They made him a charming comic relief-type character in the manga, sure, but they overdid the sparkles for the comic effect. I like twisted manipulative evil Marluxia. The biggest shock for me was that his name is pronounced "Mar-loo-jhah."
As for Vexen... I never got why people ever thought he was good looking in the first place. He always seemed gaunt and ugly and had a tendency to twist his face to me. In CoM though they really did base him off of Hojo in DoC, actions and expressions and all. Twisted gaunt old crabby scientist, GET! They even gave him the same seiyuu! I kind of missed the whooping laugh though...

yeah, I never got that part. Marluxia's so girly, but he got this booming deep voice. And then Larxene got this incredibly high pitched and annoying voice. It just didn't seem to match them.

Loved the original version of him so much, it really hurt to see him robbed of almost all dignity.

I reckon Tetusya Numora was having a bad day and needed cheering up when he redesigned Vexen. Poor, poor vexen. As if he hadn't lost enough, his home, his heart, his existence and his dignity.

It's so true. They couldn't decide whether they were creating a bishonen dude, or a madman scientist! x-x It ruined Vexen's life and I'm sure he had to go through lots and lots of extensive therpy! Poor boy.

It's on ice at the moment, as it will usually be while I'm busy fangirling something. As soon as my current fascination with Kingdom Hearts has died down, I'll probably to back to pick at Pangaea, Tanin or Gate of Mists, as I usually do.

Tanin is another of my original stories, there are a few images from it in my gallery, but admittedly it's one I don't draw or write a lot for.

MY character, Ixbran, is suposed to be my own custom Nobody. Hes a Zora also, from the legend of Zelda searies. So in a way my charactercombinesmy favoret gaming searies together.

Exactly - there was no evidence of any bulgy eyes or mad-scientist hysteria in the original game. It's such a shame they felt the need to ruin his character like that for cheap laughs. :/

I definitely liked Vexen better in the original game, even though he's quite beautifully rendered in 3D (while not making funny faces. >.< )
I wouldn't say it was brown in the GBA version, more of a golden blond, but they certainly lightened both his hair and eyes in the remake. I can live with that, though - it's the horrid 70-year old's voice and rubber-face I can't stand. >.<

Yup, I was mad that Axel killed him, he does look good as a 3D model but they faces were off. *Rushes off to re-look at Marluxia's hair* You're right it is a golden blonde.

He did make some pretty weird faces, but there were more sexy faces than weird ones. Which made me happy.

Oh, And if you think it's bad that they used Hoko's japanese voice (which, in my opinion isn't that bad) They'll probably use his English voice too. *shudders* I have played DoC but I saw one clip and he had a horrific english voice.

I agree! What is it with popular society to take and completely destroy any awesomness in the completely scientist characters? Vexen was so rubbery. Oh well He was still hot so okay.

I should try drawing Vexen sometime. Why doesn't he have more fans, anyway? He's one of the coolest characters in Kingdom Hearts, along with Zexion who gets called 'emo' so much I've almost forgotten what he's REALLY like. They never pay enough (positive) attention to the best ones, do they?
