Man, the Explorers of Sky 10th Anniversary really snuck up on me! Since this is such a special one though, I felt like I had to make something. Thus this was born. Happy Anniversary, guys!

So, by the time Grovyle and Lira went into the past, it would've actually been around 10-11 years since they first met, but meh. Still wanted to do this. Obviously, with the plot of the PGL series, I've changed things a bit from the game, but I always try to think of the feelings and thoughts behind the canon characters. For Grovyle, we know he withholds the truth about disappearing from us because he's scared of what'll happen if he does and what'll that mean for the person the Hero--in this case, Lira--is now. He's forced to accept that their memories are gone and they've already started this life of their own without him in it. And that would be heart-breaking. This was his partner and best friend. With Lira, a little sister. More than just it being a matter of her disappearing, she's now started finding a strong bond of love and trust with her partner, Ri--who thinks the world of her. Even if they weren't going to disappear, he could tell how strong they cared about each other and that he would have to find a way to move on. They're relationship wouldn't be the same because she'll have grown up in a way that grew apart from him. And with their having to disappear, he knows if he's not going to say anything that the least he can do is give her and Ri as much time to be together as possible--even if it means he can't have those last hours he wants to with her.
