Description Beautiful picture taken by Thanks a lot for taking your last pictures for me!

I wanted to cosplay some Soul Eater since I began the anime. What a good shonen! I'll probably do Death Scythe, and maybe Soul in his suit... There are good cosplayers here who will do some characters like Black Star, Maka and Kid, so I'm sure I'll get beautiful pictures this summer!^^

But for now, Crona! I thought it would be simple, but I had a lot of unexpected problems, so it took longer than I thought...

But unexpectedly again, it was really fun and easy to do Ragnarok. Since I'm no good with props, I didn't want to do the sword version, and chibi Raggy is so cute... XD

Don't worry, it's been the same on my side (tho I'm a computer-holic so I'm checking everything 100X a day... )

Yeah, they're putting some new stuff, but skipping some good stuff... so wierd. I hope Poland will appear soon. I love the "yo, like, uh" way he talks! XD

Omg, dubs for FMA were terrible. I've heard in english and in french, both were horrible. Subs win all the way for this! And the new series is getting really good.

I should try this with my PSP if I can get a good memory card, to see if it's visible or not...^^

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-24 19:11:42 +0000 UTC]

Computerholic is fine! Most people I know are the opposite and impossible to talk to :C

Poland is a he? O_O I... would never have worked that out on my own! Being a he makes him so much better...
Are there any female characters other than Hungary?

Ergh, I know it's really praised for being one of the best dubs but that doesn't mean it's good xD I had to watch one when it didn't work on my new place and... no. Just no Ed sounds like Sonic and I despise Sonic. Though I think the worst ever dub has to be Agito/Akito from Air Gear. The dub ruined the character .__.
And I'm up to ep 18... out of 50-something x_X Mind you, I watched the same amount of Soul Eater in next to no time.

PSP is a better bet. My ipod does have a big screen, but nowhere big enough without a magnifying glass

Computerholic is not fine, since I'm losing so much time on computer I could use to sew, doing homeworks or doing something useful... >_< But at least, it's good for communication!

... Belarus is female... Seychelles too, I think...

It's supposed to be good? Then I wonder how the bad ones are! The few good english dubs I've heard were Hellsing and .hack//SIGN. But usually I don't even dare to check the dubs, since I end up traumatized... (The French version of Full Metal Panic killed me.)

Come on, only a few hours of intense watching and you're done! XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-24 20:50:44 +0000 UTC]

That is true. I'd be fine if my work didn't require a computer O_O I log on to do some work and think "Oh, I'll just check such and such" and before I know it, it's 5 hours later and I've done no work!
However, I did just now log off for 35 minutes and I finally sewed/sewn (?!) on that arm for my plushie *O* It's complete at last!

I haven't come across those yet. But I found a fanart with most of them in and it looks like most of the eastern block are female, save Poland

Hmm! I heard that it's renowned as being one of the good dubs, making all others even more abysmal!
Usually I only find the movies to have good dubs, like the Studio Ghibli films. The anime rarely do (since I haven't watched Hellsing or .hack).

I would be doing massive intensive watching, but it has a limit! I can only get away with 3 episodes per 24 hours .__. Else I'd be up to 30-something by now, like I was with Soul Eater

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-04-25 02:34:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, so true... But I have this bad habbit of being completely unable to do only one thing at the time. Computer worsen that deeeeeeply. (And cool, plushie!^^ )

I've just check the character list on LJ, here are the females: Belarus, Hungary, Ukraine, Belgium, Seychelles, Liechtenstein, Taiwan. Eastern block look female, but aren't, mostly...

Yeah, some movies have good dubs too... (Tho I'm still traumatized with Advent Children. >_< )

... just get some goddamn torrents already... XDDDD Nah, seriously, I have a limit too now (changed the internet provider) and it's so uncool, you have to choose carefully what you watch...

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-25 20:14:09 +0000 UTC]

Ah, if only computers couldn't multitask, then you'd be set though sometimes my computer likes to pretend that it can't do two things at once and crashes when I try to!

That isn't a lot of countries I was really surprised by Poland though, since just about every fanart with him in has him cross-dressing xD I really should have learnt by now to not take what I see on the internet by face value!

I can't actually remember whether I watched Advent Children with subs or dubs

*fwapfwap* torrents.... schmorrents? I've just learnt to organise when I watch them so I get the most out

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-04-25 21:14:31 +0000 UTC]

Multitasking is the purpose of a computer! O_O So HUMANS shouldn't be able to multitask.

There are a lot of female versions of all characters, tho...

I watched with subs 100 times. 1 time with dub was enough...

That's some progress... XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-26 09:29:42 +0000 UTC]

Mine really dislikes it xD But aren't we meant to be able to multitask. Even learning to drive hasn't improved my multitasking skills

I suppose. I'm just willing Hetalia to get on with it

Urgh, I watched an anime film the other day and was mentally scarred by the dub. It was supposed to be in Japanese with subs... but there was no Language Selection option in the main menu o_O So I was forced to watch the dub

I'll give you 'rogress'

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-04-26 13:18:24 +0000 UTC]

Huh, driving. Such a bother... >_<

So they should travestite all Hetalia boys? XD

There is no selection for the languages and subs you can do on your DVD player itself?

I'm not sure I should give YOU progress... XD

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-26 19:02:35 +0000 UTC]

It is! At least now I have a parking space for school. Before, I had to park on the road and there was a very angry man who used to bother me when I did D:

I think it'd be an interesting concept xD I must admit though: the person who created it chose their audience well!

Nah, nothing like that. In the menu there was only Play movie, scene selection and the choice between surround or stereo sound, and on the DVD player itself there's only like play, eject and things D: Very frustrating!

I'm not sure how you'd go about giving me progree xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-04-27 16:15:53 +0000 UTC]

Wierd... you don't even have to pay for your parking?

Yeah, fangirl geeks do the perfect audience for this kind of webcomic. Especially when there are travestites (chibitalia), bishonens, stupid jokes with yaoi implied and national pride and stuff.

Yeah, but there's always a menu you can access with the remote... I think...

Progress I did: I asked my boyfriend to dl Gurren Lagann's movie.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-27 20:11:30 +0000 UTC]

Nope, but that's only because it's a public place. Although I don't park in the car park I'm supposed to Last time I went in there, I ended up trapped D:

Chibitalia is possibly the most random thing I've ever seen, but it is immensely amusing. And national pride crossed with shonen ai is a stroke of genius

I really can't find it xD Good thing the dialogue wasn't that important! It was a pretty film with a very confusing ending. That's all I can say about it

I didn't realise Gurren Lagann had a movie
My progress: Finally found a site that has all the subbed FMA episodes without a viewing limit. And I've encountered Wrath for the first time, possibly my favourite character (I accidentally watched most of the movie before the series )

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-04-27 21:43:12 +0000 UTC]

That's probably because they want you to stay at school. New strategies to keep people studying.

Italia-chan's panties shot! O_O God must love fangirls.

For being pretty, it's immensely pretty. But the ending is not that confusing. Bad guy gets beaten. End. XD

Gurren Lagann's movie is still very new, and it's mostly a recap of the anime, but still good and very epic!^^

And for Wrath in FMA... let's say he's different then the manga\new anime version!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-29 13:30:29 +0000 UTC]

Well, certain people get paid for staying at school here

Haha, the panties shot made me Though I still can't get over how much I hate Holy Roman Empire's hat D<

Just like that! That could be a decent synopsis
Though I'm still not sure who the bad guy was D:

Still got the epic factor? That's all it needs They trying to go a bit more mainstream with the movie?

How is he different? I'm curious. I read somewhere that the anime sticks to the manga for the first half then deviates wildly and now that I am over halfway, I'm wondering how the manga is different

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-04-29 14:15:34 +0000 UTC]

... wow. And I just finished (or almost finished) university for good. And I won't get payed for this.

I've just watched ep 14, and Italia plays with Germany's ass. Something's going wrong somewhere.

Well, the anime was pretty mainstream by itself... but the movie is really a recap, they go too fast on some things, so it's best to have seen the anime before...

After the sixth manga, it's completely different. New characters from Xing, different ways to kill Homonculus, different Homonculus, different story for Hohenheim... it's completely something else! But both anime and manga are good and have the same spirit. (But I'm still glad for the new anime!)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-29 19:02:54 +0000 UTC]

You do have to a lot of conditions though O_O I don't get it. Your parents have to earn a certain amount and you cannot miss a single lesson, which I'd have failed at when I had problems beginning of this year and had lots of doctor's appointments and such

I watched 14 earlier and... oh dear. It is just as you said. That programme gets worse and worse and yet better and better xD

Hmm, I don't think it's that mainstream. I don't know all that many people who've seen it. Though all the ones I do know are pretty hardcore to the series I watched most of it late at night on youtube so I remember... little
I managed not to cry at it though. Most anime I've watched made me cry at some point, even for the most pointless reasons

I had a nose-around on the Wikipedia info and... it does look very different. Are Wrath and Pride (who I haven't come across yet) actually just brand new characters for the anime? o_O I thought they wouldn't be able to change things that far...
When does the new series take place?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-04-30 01:08:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but still... that's a student dream!

Now that they've trapped their public, they do anything they want! XD Which is a good and a bad thing...

It's becomming more and more mainstream, now that it's licenced and distributed around the world. And it's made by Gainax, meaning they want it to become known. When you go to conventions, there are more and more cosplayers of Gurren Lagann. Still, it's not as mainstream as some random shonen would be, but considering the public, it is. (But HOW can you not cry when Kamina dies??? )

They are not new in the anime, just... very different. The new series seems to take place completely at the beginning. I can't wait to see again some scenes with the wonderful animation!^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-04-30 15:52:32 +0000 UTC]

Indeed!

I dread to think what some series would do with "anything they want". Popularity must go only so far D:

I do doubt that GL will ever be amongst the top mainstream series, namely Bleach, Naruto and Death Note, but it would be nice to see it get there.
(I was in too much shock when Kamina died that I didn't cry I really didn't see it coming so I had a total moment)

I've finally come across Pride in the anime and it didn't surprise me in the slightest. But haven't they switched the names around? (Anime Wrath is still my favourite ). I can't wait to get onto the new series. It looks fabulous! *O*

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-04-30 22:04:18 +0000 UTC]

... anything they want... my favorite series were like that, and got popular too...

Well, there is "mainstream" like Naruto/Bleach/blabla and there is mainstream that everybody has seen of heard of anyway...

Yeah, they switched the names for Wrath. But Sloth and Pride are very different... O_O (I don't want to spoil anything! >_< )

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-05-01 14:52:11 +0000 UTC]

Out of interest, what is your favourite series?

Hmm, I really try to stay away from those two. Death Note is good, but it's geared towards a certain audience. I really just try things out and see how they go. I know plenty of series that I preferred as manga volumes

I'm very close to the end of the series now D: Must... finish!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-05-01 16:05:04 +0000 UTC]

I've got 3 absolute favorite series: Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei (especially Zoku, the 2nd season), Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu and Gankutsuou - Le Comte de Monte-Cristo. Those series just feel perfect to my taste. And you?^^

Yeah, for most shonen (well, almost all shonen over 50 episodes that I know), the manga wil always be better (no fillers!) But it's the anime that push them into mainstream!

Come on! XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-05-01 19:20:13 +0000 UTC]

Although I knew none of those by name, after looking them up on Wiki I can say that I've heard of the second two, though never had the opportunity to watch
Hmm, myself... I can definitely say that my three favourite manga series are Tsubasa: Reserviour Chornicles, Chrno Crusade and D.Gray-Man, most of which were simply terrible as anime
Anime series? As much as I loved Death Note, it isn't really the sort of thing you can watch more than once. So I reckon I'm tied between Ouran High School Host Club (my sense of humour is very unsophisticated :'D), Kuroshitsuji and FMA. But to be fair, I do really like all the series I've seen, else I wouldn't have bothered watching them

My internet is being so slow! It's just getting good!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-05-01 20:14:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I have to agree... Tsubasa RC has a good soundtrack, Chrno Crusade was good... until the terrible end, and D.Gray Man, like most shonen, is currently in filler-land...

Death Note is a special case, since it's a detective/thriller story. When you know the punch, it's not as fun... but yeah, mainstream or not, the important question should be do you like it or not!

Nooooooes!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-05-01 20:24:35 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I do have the Tsubasa soundtrack even without the anime Chrno Crusade... I just couldn't accept how different it was. And the manga made me cry, which i couldn't see the anime doing. And D.Gray-Man tried to reveal all the spoilers before I read them D:

At the time, Death Note was easily the best thing I'd ever seen, but... it's difficult to appreciate it after. Well, except for the Abridged parody, which was just hilarious.

ARG?! Zeppelins?! WTF?! D8 This is taking a twist I never would have imagined. (only two episodes to go)

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-05-02 01:23:20 +0000 UTC]

I should read D.Gray Man, but I don't know anybody who has it... T_T

Same here. I kinda got tired of it... maybe because it got mainstream...

*waits patiently*

Staraya In reply to simakai [2009-05-06 13:33:54 +0000 UTC]

I'm the only one of my friends who reads it, but I rarely lend books out They've only ever come back damaged, or in one casy covered in mud

Aha! I have finally finished FMA! And... that ending was spectacular. Considering I knew whereabouts it was headed from the movie, it actually really surprised me

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simakai In reply to Staraya [2009-05-06 13:43:27 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that's bad... I've lent my books oftenly, they come back in a good state... (I damage them myself! )

The ending was... surprising. I can't say if it's good or bad, but it's interesting. I didn't watch the movie, tho.

I take great care of my books.... well, most of the time there have been occasions where I damaged one of my own books and I was not impressed with myself

I've watched the movie earlier today and it... I'm not sure really xD I can't decide which ending I was more satisfied with
However, I've also just watched the first episode of the new series, the Brotherhood one, and I'm not sure about that either

Yeah, the first episode of brotherhood is... meh, but after it just gets better. But I suggest you watch something else before the new FMA, just for a change!

I'm a very careless person, but in a different way. I tend to break electronic things, like TVs, DVD players, phones, music players, anything! It's a very expensive habit

Fair enough! I shall have to hunt down a new series
