Obviously, it's the four swords with Shadow Link behind them drawn in pen then scanned into the computer and photoshopped.Is there any meaning behind this?

Huh, interesting idea~ it needs more work though. The story as I read it went by too quickly and was a bit edgy in the style. it needs more flow. You have to get into the personality of the characters more, into their thoughts, their feelings! I didn't get the sense that Link was all that happy that he had saved Zelda and Hyrule for example.
Otherwise, 8 personalities!!! Ohmygosh! You're really going to be able to have so many characters in one story!? If you pull that off I will be amazed! Owo I can barely manage to use two characters in my failure of stories! XD

It's awesome that you're actually succeeding in creating a whole story like that! Mine all end after the first chapter cause I get too many ideas or get off track or something, so I know it can be tough. Good luck with it!
