I do not agree. Sure Logan has a lot of death and violence and swearing and even violence done on children.
But in the end it's about a guy who had lost faith in everything and ends up giving his own life heroically for his newfound child.
That's a harshly realistic but also very positive story: even in a world dominated by violence, people can change and heroes exist.
It's a story of redemption.
Watchmen might be somewhat less violent, but the story is much darker.
Everything is morally grey. Superheroes aren't actually heroes. Most of them are pretty pathetic human beings who just happen to have abilities.Β
It paints a pessimistic and depressing view of humanity. No redemption in there at all. No noble self-sacrifice, just self-preservation and other selfish motivations which sometimes happen to coincide with saving the world.

I still think its worse, for many reasons too.
I mean look at Professor Xavier in the movie. He was even worse than a pretty pathetic human being who just happens to have abilities.Β Xavier was now a senile old man who was suffering from Alzheimers and Dementia, and he didn't even get a proper nursing home like most old people, but had to live out his last days in a hot and rusty old silo in the middle of nowhere, where he has to be drugged up and doesn't get the company of his other friends (well he had Logan, but you'd think he'd want to spend his last days with the friends who knew him best, like Beast or Jean Grey). And to think THAT was once the guy who saw mutants not as freaks of nature but for who they were and helped them master their abilities and believe in themselves.
Or those parts where the Wolverine-Girl was reading those X-men comics, and Logan then tells her, "The Real World isn't like these comics," telling herΒ at that age, about the harsh reality of the world she lives in. And she loses her innocenceΒ early. Β
I think those also make it worse than Watchmen.

Well, to me the things you point out make the film realistic. Not dark.
Genocide, child-soldiers, abandoned elders suffering from dementia, corporations who think they own humans, etc. Those are all awful things but they exist in the real world too.
And the extremely positive message of Logan is that despite all that, there are still people who believe in helping out each other. Logan who had become selfish and cynical can learn once more to love and give.
The girl learns to overcome her trauma and gradually opens up and also learns to care.
Ultimately the message is positive and hopeful. It ends with children gaining their freedom. There are few more obvious symbols of hope out there.
No such thing in Watchmen, which is cynical from the beginning to the end.
I mean: the omniscient being gives up on humans. It doesn't get more literal than that.
I do agree that the world in Watchmen is less dark than it is in Logan. But there are actual non-fictional parts of history and even places in the present that are arguably worse than both of them. The difference is the presence (in Logan) or absence ()in Watchmen) of hope and noble people; and that makes Watchmen much darker and depressing.

Ooh, I had never heard of these commercials before. That was a fun bit of Googling, thanks!
I'm not sure if your question is serious, but no, I'm absolutely sure that it's Hugh Jackman. I referenced a still from the movie when the trailer came out.

Haha, thanks!
I'm not sure I agree. If being Β rated R was the condition for them to truly do the character justice, then all the better.
Younger fans will always be able to watch it later.
What's more, there are many ways around R ratings, like the internet.

Thanks for the fave and watch!
This is 100% photoshop.
I'd love to teach you the skills that got me here. Teaching art is one of the things I'd really love to do, but as of now I'm still a student with a lot to learn and not that much time.Β
I can give you a bit of advice, though, if you want to learn.
The key is knowing where you're going and practising accordingly.
So the first thing is to ask yourself what your goal is as an artist, because this will guide your choices like what to learn when, or how hard to train.
I've been through your page. I notice you have a fair bit of talent and high motivation. You're already on the right track!
I also noticed you look at a lot of tutorials. While a good teacher can multiply your learning speed, many tutorials will slow you down.
If you are serious about getting good at drawing, you need to never look at a "How to draw this or that step-by-step" tutorial ever again. These may give quick results, but you'll be stuck the day you want to change style or draw something for which you can't find a tutorial.Β
There is fundamental knowledge that can let you break down any image or object and with which you'll be able to invent the step-by-step by yourself for anything you'd like to draw.
The first things you need to learn about are: drawing with values and edges, how light and shadows work and later on, colour theory. I strongly recommend watching all the videos in the "Drawing Basics" category on this page:Β www.proko.com/library/
These are the essential things that make an image believable. If you want to achieve realism, it's absolutely necessary. And even if you prefer stylised stuff, knowing the rules that apply in nature will help you understand when you can break them, as well as understand the components of other artists' styles.
First you need to practice getting comfortable drawing with values and edges, preferably with a reference. So at first, I recommend leaving colour and sticking with gray-scale. I would even recommend leaving the computer for the good old pencil. Of course, this shouldn't stop you from having fun and experimenting, but to get better, you NEED to get comfortable with values. Colour and fancy computer tricks will get in the way.
I strongly recommend trying to copy gray-scale photographs. Realism is the best way to improve to your drawing skills, as a beginner. When I started off, I drew 90 pencil portraits of people I know personally, trying to capture their likeness and I improved dramatically.
The next important things are colour theory and getting to know your subject's forms and proportions (for drawing humans = learning anatomy + gesture drawing).
The least important things are medium-related techniques. Fancy brush work and neat line-art are skills that you can pick up anytime and relatively easily, but if your control of value, edge, shape and colour is bad, then your image will look bad.
This isn't so much a chronological order in which to take things, but more of an order of importance.
Anyhow, practice and experience is everything. As a learning artist, quantity is better than quality, even at my skill level.
Keep taking in knowledge from all sources. Be open-minded. You can learn a lot from people who have different styles, media, techniques or skill levels. But always be critical of anything you hear. There is no one right way to do things.
For example, you'll find a ridiculous amount of tutorials (especially on dA) teaching that to draw, you must:
1. make a sketch
2. make a polished lineart on new layer
3. block-in colours on layer underneath
4. shade on new layer
5. highlight on new layer
6. software magic
This is an excellent way to draw cartoons or anime efficiently. But to limit yourself to this is artistic nonsense. There's an infinite amount of more creative ways to work.
I personally never work that way. In this particular piece, I didn't even use a sketch and started off immediately with large strokes of colour.
I'll leave you with a quote from world-class artist and teacher Glenn Vilppu: "there are no rules, only tools".

Whoaa actually i'm half joking when i asked about teaching from you but look what i just got lololololol, it really inspires me man thank you so much!! I thought you will reply it with a joke too but you really just taught me a new knowledge! i already bookmarked the web you gave me thanks! You know also said the same thing too, she said to omprove drawing skill first we have too color our drawing in -100 saturation or like you said, in grayscale first to know where the shadow and lights on our drawing or value edge like you said before.
Yeah maybe looking at tutorials limit my ability and skill to improve my art because if we use that method, we limit our skill with artist's whom make the tutorial and it will be hard for us to mprove more, i always take a look at real life but when i'm really stuck (learning from real-life is really hard man, thought it's gonna be easy..) i take a look at tutorials i saved hehe. Either way thank you so much man for your tips and reference you gave. I also save your words here to my memo i can use it as inspirational words hehe, sorry if i sounds like a freak lolol XD

Don't worry, you don't sound like a freak at all (to me anyway).
The problem with "How to draw... step-by-step" tutorials isn't that it limits your improvement, it's that it only teaches you to draw one thing in one particular way, when you'd be better off learning fundamental skills that will help you draw anything in any way you want.
Oh yeah, and if you ever need any more advice, just hit me!

Martin I never said you HAVE to do it in grayscale, I just thought it might help you since you seemed to have a problem with values ^_^ If it helps you I'm glad but if not we can find another way~Β

Oops well that's most effective way i get from you to reduce the saturation level to -100 and turn our art into grayscale so we can know the mistakes and value and edges in our art hehe . Your advice really helps me a lot! Now i'm still coloring my work but i have other homeworks so maybe it gets delayed for a while
