Description
These are a couple of young male impalas in a bachelor herd. When young males get old enough to be perceived as a threat to the dominant male, they are booted out of their mothersβ herd and join others in bachelor herds until they are ready to establish a territory of their own. These two bachelor boys were meticulously grooming each other for quite a while; kind of neat to watch. You can tell from the size of their horns that they are young (you can see a mature male with much larger horns here ).Taken in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia.
