Description Drawn to A5 size.
took about twelve hours or so, drawn using biro and my pigment ink fineliners, coloured with my cheap pencil crayons.

the midas tree, flowing its energy into the rock around and turning it into gold. the butterflies that live on its pollen are the only thing to keep the three in known existence, fluttering high as they do from one to another, at different parts of the globe....
and occassionally pollenating one and letting it spore.

I truly think this is amazing art! This would take me more than a week and you worked only 12 hours? simonpark81 you are very talented.

to be honest i sketch these for the most part, just really in depth sketching, layering the sketches up until it looks very complicated, the original ideas themselves bubble around my head as im drawing and the pictures seem to just flow onto the page.
most of my pieces are in some way a commentary or a story, i try and fit a whole story in one picture at a time, and this i think makes them seem more than they are.
i too am in awe of them, and i dont mean i am a real proud stuck-up idiot, i dont go round telling people i am a good artist, but i do find myself looking through them all, shaking my head and grinning like an idiot, saying "how did i get it looking right?"
...truth is i dont know, i must have found my muse in my partner ...
my drawings went from manga lineart sketches to something like this

within weeks of our gettin together.... before i had never coloured my stuff. like i say, my muse

YOu have truly found a style that is your own, I think I could tell your work from others, that is a tough thing to do. You are Npt-s-Mainstream for sure!

thanks
its my aim in life to be unique, an individual among the masses,
but also that we all should be, that everyone is just as important.
kings and queens are no better, we all eat, sh*t and breed like any other mammal i care to think of... so why not try and be different? in everything i mean, not just with art or writing or anything. why not be a black sheep? there are so many normal sheep that no one will notice anyway, but it makes you feel better in yourself knowing your not one of the "lowwing masses" XD

I love the detailing in the trees. I love all the little mushrooms. I love the roots. I love the path wandering into the back. I love the trees. I love it all.

and mostly I love how the Midas Tree is not some huge monstrosity that towers over everything and appears to be important because it's big... but how it is just small and nestled there in the midst of it's larger family members, just doing it's thing.
I love it all.

thanks
most important things are always the ones you cant see working, but that work whether we know of em or not.... the wildlife around represents the world's animals, and how there only ever seems to be a select few that pay attention to what needs doing while there are always those willing to just flutter around the shiny shiny tree all day

This is so amazing, all the details from the texture in the bark to the colors in the cat's fur. This is awesome. I want to visit this place.

worth it, worth it

yeah, she is something else
she is the one who got me drawing again, without her none of the drawings on deviant would have come to be in the first place...
god, without her intervention i would still be a ruddy drug addict and just dodging life like an idiot.

yeah i get that feeling from it too.. i love woods and nature
with most of my pieces i purposefully try and draw the eye off into the distance
thank you so much for your kind words
my world is alternately the most peaceful place imaginable and also the most hectic...
you wouldnt believe but i need these moments of clarity, where i am one with the colours and lose myself to the page
