Description Drawn using pigment ink fineliners, colouring pencils and metallic gel pens.

Imagine you are a grain of sand, one of billions that make a great flowing mass,
counting interminable seconds from an unknown past into an unknown future.
beneath the vast machine that is terra firma, Mother Earth.
Your very essence is playing a part in this great conundrum.
Who you are, What you decide to be, who you decide to hang out with...
all have bearing on the result.

if only! but then what would we do?

I think mankind needs to be lead, they are like sheep.

the trick is in learning to be a Yudas goat

Maybe, but to me the proles(sheep) are best to be kept alone when they behave in a Democratic society.

so-called demonocratic society

thanks my friend! I really enjoyed bringing this together. for me, there is a great worry about fukushima daiichi and the pacific ocean now. I fear its only a matter of time before the Japanese are wiped out, and they do not deserve this! everyone needs to pull together and do something... but of course world "power"s don't want any other country to gain strength, lest another war break out....

"I sometimes think of how quickly our differences would disappear overnight, if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world" said Reagan.... and oh boy was he right. its about time mankind pulled together against this radiation threat, before we all lose out.

much love, peace and have a wonderful day my friend!

Fukushima Daiichi, yes ... It was and still is such great concern, but, if you think about it...who is the one keeping the whole thing under blue tarps ?  From the moment Japan does not voice its concern, and under estimate the tragedy and its effects whilst the rest of the world turns a blind eye to the whole situation ... so conveniently...so  slowly but surely the oceans are being irradiated and God knows what else. Let us all Unite !! (: yeah...is way easier said than done, and I don't think that an alien threat would be enough to unite us ..gahh!!! hahaha (:  Much love, peace and wonderful understanding brother of mine   ~ Delighted to read from you !

yup.... I heard about how all the whales and dolphins and fish are surging around the shores of western America at the moment.

worrying.... I wonder if our children's children will even know what a whale was?

I think all governments are in cahoots together. it makes too much sense. things like wars and language barriers are pushed more and more to stop people wanting to leave their homeland, and slowly turns them into bigots, racist effigies of themselves.

I think that's the only reason they keep the world this way, so people wont trust each other.

im also suspicious that "terrorism" is in fact just freedom fighting groups, trying to get people to sit up and take notice of their world.

that said, thanks to the internet people are talking more than ever now.... except all those that don't have the web....which seem to mostly be the bigots I mentioned...

ah, C'est la vie. whatever the weather, we'll weather the weather, whether we like it or now.

much love back at you, you beautiful soul.

as ever, is a pleasure to converse with you my friend. not enough free-thinkers round here.

hehe yeah thank you! always up for more philosophical and theological musings with you, my dear friend.
big things are in the works at the moment, working on an album cover and been discussing maybe designing something for an actual film in future, as well as now applying to art galleries for exhibitions-
if i could, i would reach through the screen and give you such a squeeze my friend! of course our rapport is still there, just sometimes we are dragged away by life and it's crazy ability to make us run in circles.

Thank you dearest Simon ! (: I've read your replies and choose this one with the hug in it  to reply back with a HUGE HUG !!!! (: ... I have been hands full, first with family matters and then with a head concussion which was not bad but very annoying because I could not tell the difference between manifestation of a concussion and those of just plain old age ! O_O  aaaaanywho ... I lost my premium membership and my page looks ugh, but in time I will change my new info to get it all in track ... and I can't tell you how glad I am to read there is magic at work ! (: May you find the path to success and may we collide again here at DA (: ~ Massive hugs and I shall return at a latter time !

wow...magnificent. Every leaf coloured in different shades of green, the tree trunk correctly refelecting the light according to curvature and texture and glass details. Must have taken hours n hours. Awesome work.

thank you so much my friend! I definitely tried my best with this one

I figured I had to address how earth's time seems to be running out, without being overly dark in my approach.

rabbitica In reply to simonpark81 [2013-11-16 04:08:17 +0000 UTC]

Yes, a great warning expressed in a beautiful way. It is not Earth's time in my opinion that is running out. Earth will survive until the Sun engulfs it in billions of years. It is our time as the latest inheriters of the Earth's generosity for giving that is running out.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

simonpark81 In reply to rabbitica [2013-11-26 12:43:19 +0000 UTC]

absolutely! the tree represents the earth and we are represented by the sand; so while the sand is slowly trickling through the gap, the tree is slowly tightening its grip. sooner or later there will be an almighty crunch, and the sand will spill everywhere.

not so bad for some of us, the sand doesn't get destroyed, just moved about a bit. the tree, however, continues to grow, larger and larger without pause.

I think we are supposed to have blown up nuclear plants and dying seas.

its a horrible thought, but if this is what it will take for the world's people to finally notice...

then I just hope disaster can be averted in the nick of time. either that or hope for a quick escape.

this world is a faith test in my humble opinion.

faith in the world, and faith in yourself. most people haven't even started on the first real task, finding yourself.

We are getting settled into our new home, just have a few large bits of furniture to get from storage (this weekend probably)  and then get the last bits of unpacking and sorting done....then I will be able to relax for a week or so before I have to plan winter festivities   I must find the time to send you a note about all the shenanigans, but life seems to be on the improve

that's great to hear! I had worried about you getting settled before the snows came. getting a new house heated and lived in can be a daunting task.

hope you have settled in well by now, sorry it took me a while to get back to you.... my message stacks never seem to get any smaller.

have yourself a lovely winter's day, and hope the sun is shining where you are !!

full of flu, which is horrible, but generally im good. our family is doing well and we are finally feeling like we are getting back on track. its been one of those years for me; where everything just flies past and suddenly its getting near xmas and I realised im still stuck in the same financial situation. never mind. will work my way out of this if its the last thing I do

I think wales helped me even more than I thought it would too, feel much better since climbing that mountain

This is true...I work much better if I can settle down to do art on a daily basis...I feel a bit disjointed at the moment because I have so many things to sort out after the move...the list seems to get longer not shorter!
