Description
I made this Ghost Busters logo cake for an 80's horror movie party two weeks ago. The double layered marble cake is covered with buttercream (which I suck at making so far-- can you tell from the awful red border?). The logo is made from dyed fondant. I had fun outlining the ghost shape.So when you have a craving for cake, who ya gonna call?

Wow... didn't think something natural could be fatal that others can eat. I guess I need to learn more about the types of reactions people have to all the different kinds of food out there.

uh yeah..
nuts is a pretty common allergy.. some people are just itchy.... some people die and have the have the legal dose of injectiony stuff and get CLEAR! ::fwump::'ed multiple times to live.
For example... my friend is allergic to chocolate. But loves it. Thankfully she has a minor reaction.

Wow, I see.... I don't know anyone with severe allergies, although there was a girl in high school who was allergic to kiwis. I made a fruit salad and I had no idea about it. I felt awful when her lips were swollen after she ate it...

Versus nuts, we have to ask everywhere >,<
No one labels stuff with nuts, except for obvious things, so we get to annoy places and ask. Shopping's easy, it's all labeled. But everything else... ugh.

How fun! Really awsm job w/the logo, it looks exactly like the ghost! I'm going to have to ask you someday how you make your fondant. Although, I did come across halal marshmallows the other day...That's the only thing that's really stopped me from trying it in the past. I had found some others at Whole Foods made w/fish gelatin, but I wasn't sure if it would work right. Thoughts?

I can point you in the direction of my sole instructor for making fondant-- youtube. I definitely advise using marshmallows only because I've tried the marshmallow-free recipes and the results are awful. As for the fish gelatin, it sounds... funky?

Sweet (literally)! So then I guess halal marshmellows are "safe." Not sure how they make them halal, but I'm glad they have them. I have a fondant recipe, but the marshmallow thing was holding me back. I'll have to try it sometime. Thanks for the tip!
