Now for someone no one asked for or wanted: Bark the Polar Bear.Besides the robot characters, I try to make my humanized versions a bit more natural looking, instead of having really crazy anime hair and fantasy outfits. My goal was to make human versions that would invoke the same kind of feelings and reactions from the other characters and audience as their mobian counterparts do. Basically, as if I had to retell all of the Archie Sonic history, but with humans instead of mobians. I'm avoiding the typical gijinka look of KPOP boy with blue emo hair. Personally, that's just not my bag, and I've seen it done too many times to do it myself. Cool beans if that's what you like, it's just not for me.
Why Bark? Well, mostly because I had been working on Rotor, drawing some vague "big guy" shapes and ended up turning one into Bark instead. But also because I'm in a wintery, sweatery mood and felt like drawing some corduroy pants.
I've got a lot of head canons as far as game!Bark goes, although I doubt they align with the Archie version much. One day I'll tell you all of them, but I'm saving that story for a rainy day. It's a fun one. >D A lot of this design is based on those head canons, but I don't think they deviate so much from the comic material that this can't pass without an explanation. He still looks like a blonde bruiser from someplace cold, and that's about all we know about him in the Archie series.
I actually don't have Bean ready yet, so they won't be uploaded as a pair. (Bummer.) But I have a vague idea of what to do for him. Soon!

The Canadian comments make me chuckle although he does have the same hair as me but I did get the impression that he was Scandinavian from the hairstyle, colour and skintone. In terms of background/nationality I think it works well for Bark.
I've always enjoyed Bark as a character but never really understood why, seeing as he doesn't have a vocal story to share in the games, and I've only read one Archie issue when he shows up with Bean. Very fond of your interpretation of him though. Excellent idea to go with a warm wool sweater and matching toque! Love the bulky characters too and you've nailed the 'big guy' bodytype well. Can't wait to see your interpretation of Rotor when you get around to him.
Wish I had certain critiques or suggestions here, but I think he's got a solid design. Excellent work!

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with how Bark looks. I wasn't planning on doing him yet, but I liked what I was coming up with and just ran with it. I think it worked out! XD

Maybe its just me, but yeah, Canadians and Scandinavians tend to look rather similar actually. Considering we both live in countries where we still go to school in ten feet or more of snow, I imagine that has a pretty big effect on how we grow. *shot*

I love your design for him...that sweater and scarf are lovely and perfect. ;_; And those corduroy pants really pull it all together in a Christmas-y look. His human build is pretty much exactly as I would have imagined it too. Love the exaggerated hand size too, to really show he's capable of pounding you into the ground à la StF.
Though I do really love his hair as it is because it's unique and suiting, I will ask out of curiosity why you chose to forgo the bangs and "ponytail" of his bear design?

I skipped the bangs because I find most Sonic character bangs a bit silly and random to begin with and tend to ignore them (lol). For the long hair, I thought about it but I was worried he'd start looking too much like a hippie, but now I'm wondering if that would be a good thing, actually. ...You know I might go back and edit this tomorrow morning, I kinda like that. I don't think the Archie version has the ponytail though, he just leaves it down.
