I made most of this back in February and just came back to it last night. I liked it enough that I decided to finish it up and try and use it as a portfolio piece in one of my upcoming reviews.

Just about everything was done already besides the "tail" part and the surrounding bubbles, so finishing it didn't really take that long. There's parts of this that I really don't like (I mean it's almost a year old), but overall I'm really satisfied with how it looks. May do some tiny cleanup before I submit it for review, but otherwise it's finished.

I think the original idea was that she was supposed to represent a muse- this was shortly after I'd seen Rise of the Guardians last December and was thinking a lot about personifying abstract ideas- and she'd have all these tendrils that would come down from the sky and zap people on the head, giving them a spark of creativity. There'd be some kind of electric cloud inside her head to represent a brainstorm.

Buuut eventually she just turned into a general mermaid, only with jellyfish instead of actual fish. I kind of like that idea too, though. Maybe someday I'll revisit this character and try out some of those other ideas.

But yeah, some original work I actually *finished*, how bout that?
