Description
I was recently inspired by the (much more) talented Izak Flash Man to do some pixelated Dwarf Fortress fan art .The subject of this drawing is a fortress called Sethilir. It was abandoned long ago and has recently been reclaimed by newcomers.
This picture is a side-project of an ongoing music pack that I'm making especially for the DF community for use in the sound utility, Soundsense.

I just used MSPaint 98. I've moved to GIMP since then, though, but I still find the former much more intuitive to use.

I've looked at this one pic quite a few times now...hard to NOT be inspired by the "wheres waldoesque" atmosphere of it all. Ever have any of those books btw? I remember there being a particular picture at the end of one of them with a bunch of miners and these giant worm-like creatures all digging around, Β similar to this.

i did have those books, man, and i loved them as a child. i actually did similar stuff years ago, but not DF themed (www.ratemymspaint.com/user/mor⦠. Unfortunately, I can't find the original "HD" versions on my drive, otherwise I would have touched them up a bit and submitted them here

Holy shit. This is one of the greatest DF pieces I've ever seen. The kind of thing that'd keep my eyes entertained for hours if it was a poster in my room. I hope you do more DF stuff, even if it's not like this--you're obviously talented.
On another note, Soundsense is the only add-on I use with DF besides a tileset. I WILL check your stuff out!
