It is true. I have a different ending myself but it involves an OC and some lying to stop Liu Kang and yes we do bring Kung lao back and free Sindel but that is all I will tell you.

i agree, now my #1 main jade wont be playable in the next MK, nor will smoke or sub-zero, even noob died all of my mains died, maybe skarlet and rain will be playable from launch i liked them,

Yeah, that ending was kind of a downer. No matter how hard Raiden tried to keep Shao Kahn from winning, everything turned to shit.
If they make an MK10, I hope either one of the following happens in it.
A. After the disaster in MK9 is over, there will be plenty of new kharacters introduced, especially "replacement"-type new kharacters. Most post-MK3 kharactetrs can appear in the sequel also.
B. Maybe MK10 won't take place after all the damage that's been done and will be based on a few endings of some characters. Maybe Liu Kang will replace Raiden as a new protector god of Earthrealm but he starts becoming an asshole god and Bo Rai Cho trains Shang Tsung to combat the corrupt deity Liu Kang. Meanwhile Cyrax is now part of the White Lotus Soceity and Mileena has a change of heart and joins Kitana Three-Girl Squad.
C. Maybe MK10 will depicted a different result from Mortal Kombat Armageddon, like for example, Reiko becoming the new Shao Kahn (see Reiko's ending in Armageddon) or maybe Shang Tsung becomes a new tyrant for Outworld.

One think should happen is that Raiden should stop Shujinko attempt to free Onaga.
personally I would'nt like to see Shang Tsung, he appearing in Deadly Alliance with Quan Chi says more about Shao Kahn's stupidity since that sorcerer wanted to betray him and by that time he has failed him 4 times
but still, who knows what will happen in the next game
