whilst the man shoots up
in the gutter.
When the cigarette pack
is banned from view
and public smoking
is made illegal
Most local residents
cheered and applauded
whilst an innocent wife
was beaten senseless.
When life is restricted
and banned from view,
freedom, rights and liberties
lost but to the few
will they make a stand
for the battered child
for the elderly couple
who feel defiled.
