If you wanna be technical in a sense, Frenzy was always blue and purple and Rumble was black and red in the comics and all other continuities. It's only in G1 that their colours were switched, and well, because I'm more familiar with the original cartoon, that's the one I usually end up using as reference when it comes to colour schemes and model types.
So.... even I'm in the wrong, when you consider that ^ ^

Well i own alot of the comics(thank you parents!), even though i didn't watch too many g1 eps. and those were what i do my refs for tf characters off of.So neither of us are that wrong i guess!
