8D QUICK UPDATE Chinese new year is gone, texas and embers still up!
Hey everyone! this is our first batch auction! It is a combination of some of the holidays from the last month~ Texas independence and the Yin year of the wood goat. Plus two sprites to celebrate the holiday. enjoy!

in rare cases if you cant do the auctions I will take snail mail. but if they arent bid on I request full ab (which is currently 350). Other than that. there is no way to get one. I don't take snail mail on uh premade designs either.

What do you Do with it once you buy it? im still fairly new to devientart and i've seen a couple auctions like this and I have no idea how they work

LOL what a question, its not one i get asked often except by people irl trying to explain what I do.
ok sure um so the way this works is. For a lot of years people on DA have made "original characters" characters they make that they add stories to. Kinda comparable to imaginary friends, characters from books. They express it through art,writing,ect. Its very personal and fun.
SPECIES are kinda a thing that happens on here. A creator makes a "species" which is basically a series of similar looking creatures with different themes and ideas. People buy these and then give them personalities, back stories, give them relationships, draw them. Species are a way of supporting a designer you love while getting something of substance in return. Lore is often provided for the species and a world. It is a community thing. People keep them and make them their own. Personally I am not that great at making original character designs i can put stories to. So I buy lots of things and its also nice to buy from good friends and know your helping them by supporting their art. But I am good at building worlds and making nice designs out of peoples memories and passions. So that's what I do, I make peoples memories into cute animals that they can care about. When they get tired they can resell them if they like or trade them for other things. I hope that helps.

So in a nutshell people auction off OC's to people who may not be the best at coming up with concepts and characters on there own, so then people will buy characters from people who auction them off and add a story line/personality to that character and potentialy have them interact with other peoples characters?

yeah pretty much. Sometimes they are good at it, they just like the design, or like I said are supporting a friend whos work they love. I dunno its pretty subjective but that tends to kinda be how I understand it.
It is a very personal and passionate thing. Its pretty fun. I have bought characters that are a species, arent, or are just dogs, or a random thing. ouo

i don't live near a whole lot of the ranches and stuff, but my family owns one. i think it's pretty funny how people think texas is all, like, cowboys and horses and boots and stuff. it's not but i like how people think that way. :3
