The GunGrave series is one of my favorites - I came across the original PS2 game in a store by complete chance years ago and really unironically enjoyed every little bit of it - the art style, the presentation, the sound - it was a somewhat mediocre game, but it really struck a cord with me. Recognizing the art style of the 3D models as of one of Yasuhiro Nightow, who created Trigun, made me like it even more.

Shortly after I found out there’s an anime and bought the whole DVD set. The anime had a somewhat different take on the story but was done well in its own way. Eventually I tracked down the second game, GunGrave: Overdose and boy do I not like talking about that one, so I’ll skip it.

Anyway, recently there’s been stuff going on about a VR game on the PS4, so I need to check that out. The promo stuff I’ve seen looks dope. Anyhow, if you’re ever wanting to check out something different, give GunGrave a chance - it’s a mafia story that goes supernatural/fantasy towards the end. The show’s tone is a serious one and it has a very sad tune throughout. It’s not for everyone, but I just wish more people knew about it.
