For those of you who don't know, 30 Days Of Autistic Art is a hashtag on Twitter that occurs over the whole month of April [April is Autism Awareness Month/Autism Acceptance Month]. It's a hashtag for artists on the autism spectrum to use to promote their art, and has various prompts for the various weeks.

The first week (April 1-7) is dedicated to headcanons: aka, characters from movies/tv shows/books/comics/etc that I believe may be on the autism spectrum, but aren't necessarily confirmed to be autistic.

I'm gonna put a very short, simplified blurb about why I hc them as autistic. I could go into more depth about it but this would be too long lol. I have other characters I hc as autistic but these were just the ones I randomly decided to do.

Day 1: I drew Lilo from Lilo and Stitch (Disney movie). She's trying to perfect an Elvis pose. Her not fitting in with others, viewing the world differently, being caught up in stories and fantasy, and her possible-hyperfixation on Elvis and photography were things that I always connected to and interpretted as a fellow autistic person.

Day 2: I drew Luz Noceda from The Owl House (tv show). Her incredible passion for fantasy was something I could relate to, as well as her not fitting in with others and being viewed as odd. Plus, her inability to do magic the way everyone else could stuck out to me as an allegory for learning differently from others and viewing the world differently, all things I relate to autism. She's probably also got ADD/ADHD tbh

Day 3: I drew Pearl from Steven Universe (tv show). I think a lot of people recognise Peridot (who I'll talk about in a second) as being autistic, but I don't see nearly as much autistic Pearl headcanons. Everything about her screams autistic person with PTSD and severe anxiety to me. Her sensory issues when it comes to eating and mess and loud sounds, her passion for weapons, her attachment to her friends, her inability to express herself to others all were things I could relate to and connect to autism.

Day 4: I drew Peridot from Steven Universe (tv show). Peridot fits a lot of autistic traits that are more commonly portrayed, which is why I think more people recognise her as potentially being autistic. Her inability to fit in, her struggles in understanding things like emotions and metaphors, and her scientific mind heavily led by emotion despite her not connecting to emotions well were things I could relate to. Plus, her limb enhancers certainly felt like an allegory for masking.

Day 5: I drew Edward Wong from Cowboy Bebop (tv show [anime]). Ed's whimsical, childish nature makes sense for any kid, but a lot of her interactions with others struck a chord with me as autistic. She's carefree and doesn't seem to be upset that others don't understand her very often, which is a trait I wish I had. She's often played off as totally in another world, but I think that's just a coping mechanism for her and is a way for her to feel comfortable in a confusing, ugly world. Cowboy Bebop's a show I've watched a million times and is probably my second favourite show ever, so it's hard not to adore all the characters, but Ed will always have a special place in my heart as someone I related to in a way I couldn't fully understand until 1) I realised and accepted I was autistic, and 2) I decided Ed felt autistic to me as well.

Day 6: I drew Dendy from OK KO Let's Be Heroes. This is a pretty common headcanon I think? She's pretty similar to Peridot in that she's a very science-focused individual who struggles to understand people's emotions and motivations. She has a passion for science and collecting cards. She seems to have difficulty expressing her own emotions and recognising other people's emotions, and tends to make assumptions about people based on her own thought process, which are things I can really relate to.

Day 7: I drew Ginko from Mushi-Shi (tv show [anime]). Mushi-Shi is my all-time favourite show. I could go on for hours about how perfect it is, but for now I'll just say that two things connected to autism and this show for me are that the show is very low-sensory (at least, for me) and that Ginko gives me autistic vibes. He's a very quiet, passive character who doesn't express himself much or give much insight into how he thinks, so it's a bit more difficult to describe *why* he feels autistic to me, but he definitely does. Honestly, I don't really know how to explain it. Maybe it's just because he's a comfort character from a comfort show that feels like home and feels safe, but he is someone I relate to and look up to and connect with. His humour, his interactions with people, his emotions; all of it feels relatable and hits me deeply in my heart. He's cooler than me though, haha
