Shoot larger, crop to fit- its one of the great advantages of digital (also one of the drawbacks- you lose a lot of pixel information when you do that and cant show the picture at the same size as original).
Tips on your pose: smile- you want to emphasize how dateable you are, so when you smile you communicate comfort and fun. And maybe cut the wine- you can take a portrait shot as sexy as this without alcohol (which evokes thoughts of one night stands).
Where's the other hand? It looks like you're reaching for your butt.
