Origin:
Bluebird was born an alley cat to a father she never knew and a mother who abandoned her the moment she could take care of herself. Bluebird learned to be independent at a young age, and this served her well. She lived a solitary life of her own choosing, living in a maintenance shed at the city park.
She was almost a year old when the calamity struck. From her vantage point crouched atop the roof of the maintenance shed, she watched as the earth shook, the buildings crumbled, and the few cats who weren’t turned to ashen were brutally slaughtered by those who were. As her world came crashing down around her ears, she fled for her life.
As she ran, she was pursued by an ashen who eventually cornered her in a warehouse district. She lunged to attack when suddenly, she crashed head first into an invisible barrier. The beast set upon her with the longest claws she had ever seen. When she tried to strike back, her blows glanced off of its thick, armor-like fur. Terrified by this cat's new power, she kicked a pawful of dust and ash into its eyes and fled, escaping with several heavy cuts.
She took shelter in the ruins of a farm house on the outskirts of a nearby town. She hid inside and lived off the odd prey she could catch while recovering from her wounds. Her encounter with the ashen left her shaken and terrified. She had never seen anything so powerful. As she crouched inside the house, she was certain that any moment an ashen would come crashing through the door and kill her where she lay- but with her injuries she couldn’t find any safer place. At first she barely slept, and jumped at every tiny sound. But, as days went by, her cuts healed, and she found herself still alive, she realized that perhaps she had a chance of survival after all. Bolstered by this new hope, she left her hiding place behind.
Bluebird took to wandering, following prey and avoiding ashen whenever possible. Even though it was a harder life than in the city- scarcer prey, mindless bloodthirsty predators every which way, and an appalling lack of shelter when it rained- she found herself coming to enjoy this new life. It was certainly much quieter than the city, and besides- the view was better.
Occasionally she would meet up with other bands of cats in her travels, but they made her uncomfortable after so long on her own and she tended to avoid them. When she heard the call, she shrugged it off. She could scarcely imagine a worse fate than living in close quarters with dozens of other cats, subjugating herself to the authority of others. She kept walking, until a certain summer evening put a stop to her wanderings.
In the warm, fading light, Bluebird was fishing in a large, swift river near the Tidal Delta. As she watched her prey dart and weave beneath the water, her attention was momentarily consumed by the task at hand. In her inattention, she was attacked by an enroi. Though she fought tooth and claw, her attacker quickly gained the upper hand and she fell, a thick, slash in her hind leg. But before the enroi could deliver the killing blow, a baseball sized stone cracked into the creature's head, dazing it momentarily. Bluebird managed to crawl away, looking up to see three cats charging forward. The largest, a blue she-cat with sharp claws and teeth, lunged at the beast, a smaller brown cat following suit. A ginger tabby rushed past them leaping onto its back and flipping off a second later. Bluebird couldn't believe her eyes. Flames burst into life where the ginger tabby’s paws had been, setting the bird-like creature on fire. Before Bluebird could react, a small critter with large eyes and antlers, bounded up and gripped her face between its rat like paws.
It spoke, asking her if she was alright. She could only manage a nod. The cats fought the enroi, eventually driving it off, badly wounded. The cats retained a few cuts but were much better off than she was. They supported her and began the long trek to a place they called safe haven. The strangers introduced themselves. The ginger tabby was Hawkflash, the small creature her familiar named Twister. The blue cat was Tidefrost, and the youngest of the group was her apprentice, Tigerpaw. They helped her to their home where she received medical attention for her many wounds.
As she recovered, she learned what it is like to be part of a community for the first time in her life, to have other cats who actually cared what happened to her. She found that when her wounds had healed she did not wish to leave, and she joined the cats at Safe Haven.
TL,DR: Bluebird was a solitary alley cat until the calamity struck. She was injured by an ashen warrior during her escape from the city, and after she healed she took to wandering. When the call came, she ignored it, preferring to remain in solitude. This continued until one summer evening when an enroi almost killed her and she was saved by Hawkflash, Tidefrost and Tigerpaw. The three took her back to Safe Haven for medical attention. Upon learning what it's like to be part of a community and be around cats who actually cared about her wellbeing, she decided to stay.
Personality -survivalist-solitary-serious-calm-introspective-independent-awkward-
Survivalist- Living on her own for so long has left Bluebird strong and capable. She keeps a level head and can handle herself quite well in a fight. Though her brief encounters with ashen have left her scarred and shaken, she draws strength from the knowledge that through her new powers she will never have to feel helpless before them again. She works hard to develop her powers, particularly those of fortitude and camoflage. She knows firsthand how useful these can be outside Safe Haven.
Solitary- Bluebird is most comfortable when she is by herself, or with close friends. She chose to be a seeker so she chould maybe get some peace and quiet on long journeys outside Safe Haven. Dealing with more than two or three cats at once is exhausting, and she tries to avoid large crowds entirely. Nevertheless, she is extremely grateful to the cats of Safe Haven for saving her life and for the compassion shown to her while she was recovering and she wants to be useful. Though it's challenging for her, she is trying to get to know the other cats.
Serious- A few near-death situations at the hands of a vicious magical enemies do tend to tend to put a damper on things. Bluebird's brand of humor is rather subtle if it is there at all. She's in an unfamiliar environment, give her some time.
Calm- Bluebird doesn't easily lose her head. She dislikes emotional outbursts and keeps her feelings under control. She likes to appear relaxed and in control of a situation. She doesn't get outwardly angry at cats she doesn't like, but she does take the passive-aggressive route of ignoring them or treating them with sardonic disdain.
Quietly Self-Assured- She doesn't feel insecure very often. She generally knows what's what.
Independent- She has a hard time accepting authority after so long being beholden to no one, and she dislikes blindly following orders. Though she is a skilled fighter, she struggles when working with a team.
Awkward- Being around so many cats all the time is quite an adjustment for Bluebird, and she is somewhat lacking in social skills. She's never really had friends before and is not quite sure how to go about it. She often misses social cues or speaks thoughtlessly, and the intricacies of social life are somewhat perplexing to her. She is working on it, though.
Nerd- She not very secretly loves getting involved in stuff. She loves figuring things out, solving puzzles, etc.
Appearance: Dark blue-grey, lean and heavily muscled. She has numerous scars- particularly on her shoulders and belly- but her long fur hides it.
Likes: strong wind, tall grass
Dislikes: crowds, being caught in rain storms
Roleplay Example
Disclaimer: this may or may not be rather pretentious.
The kit's life began in a muddle of warmth and milk and fur. He spent his days curled up at the side of the milk-giver, listening to her soft croons and jostling the other milk-suckers for space. He slept often, and so time passed until once upon a spring evening he woke up and opened his eyes. He was lying on his side, back pressed into the milk-giver's soft belly. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the other milk-suckers sprawled out around him, purring in their sleep. He craned his neck and saw the milk-giver, stretched on her side, chest slowly rising and falling in tandem with the cat beside her. The cat smelled familiar- he had spent much time with the milk-giver, often bringing with him strange smells of somewhere else. Where did he come from? Was it the strange hole in the wall, through which a faint light was shining? Where did the light come from? He gathered his strength and rose up on uncertain legs, and with a few trips and stumbles he made his way toward the light. He pushed his way through the green-covered hole...
His jaw dropped as he beheld the world around him. It had suddenly grown very large very fast. He sat down on the soft-green outside the nursery and stared for what seemed an eternity. Strange scents blew through the air on a soft breeze. The world loomed above him. It seemed mighty big, and it made the kit feel mighty small. Everything was alien and frightening and impossibly, breathtakingly beautiful. The infinite lights in the sky cast a soft, comforting glow over the world. He smiled up at them. They seemed to be saying hello.

Good! She looks like a great character. The traits make perfect sense with her role as a loner, and I like how you empathize the fact she's getting used to Safe Haven.

I believe this is fine just as Riv said. The only thing I would say is just the roleplay example and maybe lengthening the personality a tad.
(Which is exactly what Riv said. *shot* |D )

Shiverpaw looks really cute by the way. Maybe if Blue gets accepted they could roleplay being awkward together : )

This is absolutely gorgeous. I love this gal's design with all of those differeny blue/gray tones. Everything looks well in order to me: the only thing I might add is a roleplay sample. The personality section is also a bit short, but that might be because you wrote it all in one paragraph rather than separating the descriptions out into traits, which is fine.

Thank you so much! I kinda struggled with her character. I didn't want her story to be too melodramatic but I did want her to have things happening. I'll see what I can do about the personality.. it's like I know what she's like in my head but when I try to write it doesn't seem quite like how I imagine her. Maybe separating traits would work better.
