"Hello and welcome to Lilac Cove, also known as Lilacverse! A next generation universe set 100 years post canon. The story follows an enthusiastic pegasus and camp counselor, Buckthorn, as he runs a popular spring and summer camp / educational center. It's his job to handle rowdy campers, arrogant co-workers, the unpredictable jungle and ocean that surrounds them, and the shady owner of the camp that has a none-to-innocent background. Nothing seems to break his spirit though as he goes through his days with a big smile and a skip in his step."

Vipin Elwood's story is a mysterious one, not many know much about the little snappy fawn, he's very closed off emotionally and practically never talks about his home life. Curious about the lonesome boy, one of the counselors Juniper Berry, tried to delve into his background after his second year in a row of being dumped at the camp. Juniper found out that his mother died during childbirth and they were left secluded in the Everfree Forest. Vipin would've died as well if it weren't for a friendly zebra that heard his hoarse cries, she turned the fawn into foal protective services and his journey from there gets foggy. He was adopted seven times before he was 10 and no family or couple that adopted him did so because they cared for the fawn. His current parents only adopted him because they wanted the government benefits and bragging rights that they were "progressive" by adopting a deer and not a pony like themselves. So every spring and even summer in attempt to get him out of their hair and to gain even more bragging rights they forcefully entered him into the Spring Education program. Because of his upbringing he has a very hard time making and obviously keeping meaningful relationships, his social skills oddly enough hadn't suffered at all though as he has an easy and disturbingly enjoyable time manipulating others for his own gain. He has a suave way with words and using one's emotions against them.

He ended up finding kindred spirits in Avery and Nova though, something he'd never experienced before. He also forms a close parental bond with Buckthorn after his first year at Lilac Cove, though he'd never admit that.

The know-it-all and fun ruiner extraordinaire is Supernova, called just "Nova", is a systematic little unicorn colt with big dreams for the future. He was sent to Lilac Cove fairly young because of his exemplary academic skills. His first year he thought the whole camp was beneath him and it was all everything he'd known already but when he earned his cutiemark with the help of Buckthorn he became quite attached to the place. A year later he came to know who would become his life long friends. His first year he ironically hated the one who would become one of his most loyal friends.

Nova is fascinated with the sky, the stars, the sun, the moon, everything. He made it his life's mission to learn all he possibly could.

Raised by an antsy single mother, Evergreen Breeze, known namely as "Avery" was constantly moving from town to town, she and her mom never stayed in one town for longer than 2 years. Resulting in her not having much communication or social skills. She also has a hard time making and/or keeping friends because of the fact she moves around all the time and loses said friends anyway. After finally getting some money and help from her girlfriend, Avery's mom was able to get her daughter accepted into the Spring Education program, something Avery had been begging to apply too. She loves the wilderness and most importantly animals, she just adores wild creatures and is constantly trying to make friends with them. In fact that was the reason she lost her right wing, she had sneaked out of her mom's apartment and into the woods surrounding the town, she found and made friends with the cubs of an ursa minor, obviously this didn't end well and she was brutally attacked by the mother. The cubs saved her last minute and she sustained severe damage to her wings and several broken ribs, along with lots of chipped and totally knocked out teeth. She was in the hospital for three months and had to have her right wing amputated and had to have all the teeth on her upper jaw removed. She received implants and had to have metal rods placed in her left wing. Despite all this she never wavered in her love of animals and nature. She was absolutely ecstatic to go to Outdoor School and was quite literally bouncing off the walls when the day approached.

While at camp she quickly made friends, which surprised even her, as she was abruptly accepted and practically dragged into a small group of two other "misfits".
