Description
I sank further. The waters, endless and engulfing of me, swerved and shaped, a plain not tread for the surface or it’s occupants. In those moments of nearly witnessing my demise, I had come face to face with the root of all my dread; the pools I had ventured and the experiences I had felt, my young heart recalling the horrors of the darkest most shallow depths and monsters that lurked within them. It caught on to the scent and taste of my blood, all leading up to the very moment in which I would be met with the absolute. A shape, inches from my feet, would bubble and float towards my vision, a haze of what was to be my future, possibly now taken by the jaws of what had kept me away from such unknowns for so, so long. With me falling further, it too would descend, dragging me to the murky grave of all things living and otherwise.
