Kindof curious. Where do you get these dolls from?
One of my exes had one and a lot of people on DA seem to have them. Is there a website selling them somewhere?

Yes you can buy them from different websites, like dollfairyland, mascatdoll, luts... there are really many of them. Usually they come from asia. You can also get them from different retailers. I got mine from a forum friend, its alot easier that way in my opinion. If you're really interested in these I recommend you to join to a forum or some sort of group that discuss this more. I hope this was helpful in some way. ^__^

I've been taking the notion as of late to buy in a bunch of parts and attempt making one or two of these. Some of the photos I've seen on here and elsewhere are absolutely beautiful. It's also a little embarrassing expressing interest in it because I'm a guy. XD
Ill be looking into it more, and I think I've found the model I happen to like on that Luts site. I'm pretty interested in trying to build one from scratch.

Good luck with that! And if you feel like you don't want to build from a scratch you can always buy a whole doll or head and a torso. ^__^

Whole dolls seem surprisingly expensive! I'd hate to ruin something like that if I'm just practising and starting out. XD I think I'd much rather having a head and trying to set the hair, eyes etc and see how I get along with it.
Senior delf Kara has a beautiful face, I'd love to work with that one. I'm not 100% sold on the body/joints tbh, but I just really love that little face.

I think its a good idea if you're not that sure, because it's so pricey that you need to be 100% sure if you want it. You can always buy the body afterwards if you feel like it. c:

I think I'm just kindof fussy about the faces really. Some of them are really beautiful but others... Honestly kindof repulse me. XD I think as long as I get one I like I should be able to deal with the hair, eyes etc on my own pretty well.
I take it joints aren't necessarily specific? Or are they? I was kindof curious whether some of these model parts (made by one company) were compatible with model parts made from another company. :s
Maybe that's something you've never tried, it's understandable if you're not sure. XD

Yea the hair and eyes should be easy. Just remember that not any wig or eyes go with any mold. There are many different sizes and you'll just have to figure it out what fits with yours. ^__^
Same comes for the joints, and it's possible that other companys parts are compatible with others. That doesn't mean they all fit with another. But yea I haven't really tried that because to me it's too confusing. xD

Oh, I didn't know some of the wigs might not fit. :0 thanks for the advice! I was sure there was going to be an issue with the eyes because I saw different sizes for them on a website at one point... But I didn't know about the wig sizes. :0
And yes, I know. Perhaps I'm being a little too adventurous, haha. I'm just a but if a perfectionist and I'd love anything I make to look really lovely. XD

It's only natural that the wigs are in different sizes because the heads are different size too. :3
And no you didn't ask. xD I have two dolls. The one in the picture is Mei (Loongsoul Allen) and Kenna (Doll-zone chinese dragon boy). And yes they are both boy molds but I turned them into girls. xD

Having saw Meis basic model face, I quite like that one too. Infact, both of them are pretty nice. 
Maybe I will keep these ones in mind for some time in the future also. X3 Do you do anything with the torsos or bodies to make them more like girls, or do you just dress them as girls? XD I've seen some people re-mold dolls and stuff, it's amazing to see.

Noo Mei has a female body. I wanted her to be female not she-male (ba-dum-tss). And well Kenna is a child so it doesn't matter it will look the same anyway. xD
I have never re-molded and I don't think I'll never have the courage for that, but those who can, can make them really cool looking.
