awesome pic. you seem to be pretty gifted with painter, so i was wondering if you had any advice on how to get better with the program. any books or sites you could specifically recommend? since my school fails to offer any courses in it i kinda have to learn it on my own and that is proving a bit difficult.

I never read any tutorials specific to painter so I don't know any books/sites. I didn't use painter for awhile because I couldn't figure out how to get results with any of the tools. I just rely on using the simplest pen tools (scratchboard tool + thick&thin pen) for all the real work... then use all the fancy miscellaneous brushes (impasto, glow, square chalk, etc) for textures/effects. I'm not sure if there really is much in the way of painter tutorials out there. I could make a general painter guide sometime if people want one. I'm not sure what to include in it.. stuff about using the program itself or about techniques and making art in it.

Did you ever get around to make that general painter guide?
I'd be very interested in your process, love your style. : )

This piece reminds me of Half-Life2, dunno, the color scheme and everything.
Yeah and Alyx and D.O.G. of course. : )
