Description
The poem/words were written by Elgatodiablo. [link]This was my first real comic strip, and also my first collaboration on DA. I didn't go all out, just scanned some sketches I made with my trusty pen then scanned and did a layout with photoshop (which I don't really know how to use yet). Thank dspayre for the very cool "arachnid" font used in the title and quotes.
I went uber Jhonen with the overall drawing style.

Yeah, awesome font, awesome poem, and excellent layout. +fav.
I had actually seen it the day you posted it, and liked it then. I just didn't realize how much. The way the sentences are so short and bitter lends an appropriate finality to the poem, given its subject matter. Your drawing style is also a perfect match.
The layout you chose was visually interesting and dramatic. I love the way you made the character stare me in the face at the end with the conclusion... it looks like a propaganda poster or billboard. But what a message to pair with it!
It was hard to place my finger on why I thought the drawing of the car looks comic and silly, but eventually figured it out. You see the way the wheel in midair is higher than the ones on the ground? The way the car is drawn with slightly oblique lines? It makes it seem like the car is eagerly jumping to take a swim, not dragging 2 brothers to their death. I'm not sure if that's the mood you're going for. At first I didn't like that frame, but it's been growing on me quite a bit.
Two small things I'd like to clean up. In the lower-left frame, "water to deep" should be "water too deep".
(oh, another thing I like--the use of all caps on this.)
Second thing I'd change: the arachnid font is awesome, but in places where you have two of the same letter next to each other, I'd prefer it if the scribble lines weren't identical. The OO in cookies is particularly noticable. it'd be an easy fix in photoshop.
This gets high marks all around. +fav.

I just like the lil part where the cigarette falls out of his mouth, that was my favorite drawing, the expression and everything.
