I think it sounds almost "dirty", but in a gentle and sensual way, for me it's lying in bed with my lover holding a hand over his heartbeat to feel his life, his passion, his love, to read him and absorb him into myself. I love listening to someone's heartbeat and feeling their pulse. There's a wonderfully primal connection to the heartbeat that thrums to your soul.

That's kinda the feeling it was meant to capture. That's my favorite part about cuddling up to my best friend and sleeping in her bed with her... I almost always spend a few moments listening to her heartbeat or feeling it through her skin... It reminds me I'm not alone, that she'll always love me, and that it doesn't matter how far from her I get, her arms are always wrapped around me...
