When all I had was dark
(despair pain gloom hurt),
you gave me that which is light
(hope love smiles happiness).
But don't give me roses
(white red pink yellow)
when you can't help me keep them.
When the roses
aren't given love and affection,
they wither.
I need you as the roses do.
Don't let the darkness
choke me out,
