Description
Prey:08/22/2011
The world is falling down around me,
my future
a dark dream.
Deep inside
my heart is shattering.
Who bind the broken hearted's wounds?
Who cares to feel my pain?
I always love those who love another
and I can't seem to want good men.
Where do the lonely go to rest?
Why does my heart ache in my chest?
A reminder of the things I'll see,
things I'll never have but always need?
I'm always everyone's confident,
always the counselor,
never the prey.
But prey
is an awkward position,
a part I don't know how to play.

There is a need for something different, something more, but an uncertainty and almost a fear of what that would be. I like how you've deemed such a position as "prey", the connotations of this are interesting, you know that prey usually ends up dead...
One critique, this line "Who bind the broken hearted's wounds" comes out somewhat awkward, perhaps "Who will bind the broken hearted's wounds" or "Who can bind the broken hearted's wounds"

It's common to talk about "the thrill of the chase", right? Well, I've never been the chased before. The chased is the prey. Because I will definitely loose something in the end, be it part of my heart or anything else.
Heh, you spotted my typo, actually. It should be "Who binds the broken hearted's wounds"
The reason it's phrased that way is that I assume there is someone out there aside from me who does that. I assume there is someone out there who takes the care and the time to do that...

Oh yes, it is, but prey has more of a "hunt" feel to it, rather than simply a chase, but oh, the hunt can be rather fun too. I actually tend to play predator more often than not myself, I think people tend to be intimidated by me or easily put off. Perhaps you need to go out hunting yourself.....
Ah, that works too. And yes there are other healers out there. But the thing is, healers are usually looking for someone to fix and someone who wants to be fixed is usually looking for a healer.

Yeah, I've also heard it referred to as a hunt...
I think people assume I'm the huntress, but really, I'm always the prey... Perhaps a change in perspective will do me good...
Yes, there are healers out there, but I need someone who knows how to fix these hurts, and all of my healers are out of their element...

You and the wolf could tag team that antelope.
.... wait, are we on the same continent here?

Don't know how the wolf feels about that notion... lol
Nope, lol. We're gonna have to take a trip to Africa after the antelope.

It's an awkward position to find yourself in, especially if you've never played that role...
