Description Omg we can now see Everard's entire face pff.Β

I ALSO FIGURED OUT HOW TO COLOR IN THE LINE ART AND MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY *frantically patting self on the back with a rubber chicken* It's like I think someone told me how to do it and then I just totally forgot until, like, I just tried it at the end. MAGIC.

Random doodle turned into something that might be a part of the story where Everard and Carth talk. Doesn't really seem like Carth wants to hear any of it at the moment. We also get to see just how tiny Carth is compared to his giant dad, and there's a reason for his dad being massive (hint: it has nothing to do with age). I made Everard look too kind compared to his normal psycho attitude. I like feels moments yeeeeeeeeeeee~. Just imagine Carth walking on something that's higher up, like a slope or something lol

"Ya do knah I loved ha, righ'?"

I can never get the colors to look as vibrant as they do on Photoshop when I upload it here. *sob*

Your characters are too cool! I love the beastly beasts. <3
The amount of detail here is astonishing as well! You got the lighting spot on.

I read the description and also saw that you're having trouble with colors in Photoshop? I had a similar issue recently, and it has to do with color profiles/color gamut. If you're still having that problem, I'd be glad to try helping you fix it! It was a bummer to me too when I thought I was sharing more vibrant images.

I still stare at this picture from time to time, and I'm still amazed I managed to make something like this lol

Yeah I have that problem a lot! I use to just go back in and just make the photo darker until it looks the same online as it does in Photoshop, but that was such a hassle I just gave up. I would love to know how to keep the pictures as vibrant as they are in photoshop, since when they get uploaded to DA they look so oddly saturated. D:

I know that feeling!

Oh no, that is a hassle. ;-; Β Well, the thing is, however vibrant they look in Photoshop might not really be the true colors..
When I updated to Windows 10, my monitor automatically installed this default color profile for itself. It happens each time if I don't have any other profiles set.
So what I was experiencing was very similar: vibrant images in PS, then when I upload them it's one of 2 extremes: SUPER vibrant and crazy-looking, or very dull. And it would even change depending on whether I was zoomed in or out on dA (really weird..)
Sadly, it's the less vibrant colors that should be your default. Apparently your screen can handle the wide color gamut (the area of visible colors; ie. my drawing tablet can't even show purple O.o) - so to you it looks AMAZING. But frankly, not everyone will be able to see it, and those colors are typically only used for professionals prints and such. I think that's why dA (or your browser; I use Chrome) was just kind of converting things on its own.. So when I changed my color profile to the right standard (sRGB instead of Adobe RGB which has the awesome colors), my art I was working on looked kinda dull. That's just the issue.. and it doesn't look bad, necessarily, but it just means we'd have to bump up the colors even more to make them actually vibrant. Consequently, the Adobe RGB color profile would definitelyΒ make your art look insane - only to you and whoever has that setting (I bet no one does while browsing).

I hope that makes sense?! Sorry, I'm not only an artist but also a technical computer geek, so.. xD Β And I apologize for the very late reply - life got ahead of me. D:
If you get the gist of this and would like help to change anything, let me know, though.

Wow, that's quite the background there.Β  And all of those tiny little details...

Dynamic range and color spaces have their limits, there's not much you can really do sometimes.

It took me so long to do just for that little space, but I'm so proud of how it came out.

And true that, but I'm slowly getting better at this stuff so hopefully it won't be too difficult for me in the future.... hopefully lol

YOU'VE IMPROVED SO MUCH, KIM!

That background looks fantastic; you've really nailed it this time. I love seeing more of your characters as well. :3

*GIDDY HAND FLAILING*

That background was so spontaneous because I had no idea what to do with the blank space, but I'm so happy I made it worrrkkkkkk

I'm trying to get back into the groove of things so hopefully there'll be more drawings of my characters in the future.

I can imagine Everard telling Carth about when he was a kid.

"Well, back in MY day..."

Omg I can see it now lol.

Actual serious conversations between these two are rare, but I can so see Everard doing that lol.

I feel a great sense of warmth from this piece, it really shows how much you're improved. Ah I love Carth and his dad having moments. X3

(I'm so late to replying *sob*)

The few moments these two seem to ever have lol. I'm so happy I got the warm feeling across because that's what I tried to put off. *happy hand flail*
