Description
Lets just say right here and now that I now know why bar tenders use a wiskey tumbler rather than the awesome margarita glass. That was mission on to put that fire out and very difficult to handle and use. Here you see a cube of sugar caramelising in a teaspoon, you pour some absinthe over the cube (so it soaks in) and a little stays in the bottom of the spoon. Light and watch it caramelise, once ready stir into the flaming mixture below.
Add ice to put it out.

true, I don't have that greater lighting int he house so I thought that by doing during the day might've helped but the flame was that hot it kinda didn't show up

I gotta say this series is pretty cool! I've never seen the absinthe process (or even knew one existed other than to slosh it down yer neck).
I reckon there would have to be a way to highlight the flame (but I don't know what it would be). I didn't realise there was even a flame in this pic until I read the description. I thought it was a reflection off the spoon.

ha! Yeah as was just saying above I failed because I tried it during the day time. However I did come up with an idea while shooting. I'm going to go to the local stationary store sometime soon and see if they have large (a3 kinda size) pieces of a neutral grey card that I can stand up behind these shots. Hopefully that would provide a great background

After a quick search on dA [link] I'd say the darker the better.
