Description
so this christmas my granddad passed away, it was a bit of a shock and very upsetting time as you can imagine, my boyfriend wanted to cheer me up so threw together a dungeons and dragons session ^^ because its only the two of us he's being both dungeon master and playerthe design and everything to do with K'Rain is all of my boyfriend's genius, all i did was draw him
K'Rain is a straight forward stoic silent type. when he was a young man he was a good fighter and was a bit cocky with it, this only got worse when he was appointed banner bearer. in a particularly tough battle K'Rain rushes in with the hopes of gaining glory and making his name known but it doesn't go well and he's cut down in battle. with their banner bearer down everyone else loses moral and the battle is lost. K'Rain escapes with his life but many others were not so fortunate. blaming his arrogance and pride for the death of his comrades K'Rain hides the truth, claiming that the troop was outnumbered and slaughtered and only he survived. since then he's been taking protection jobs, in a way to redeem himself. joining the hero's guild in Oakstone seemed to be the best chance to find regular work of that ilk.
Damakos is a charming, mischievous little shit that tries to charm the pants of anyone he meets. mostly this is taken in a light-hearted jokey fashion and therefore has become a loved member of the guild though many see him as a liability on quests so is often just left at the guildhall to entertain people with his fire-eating feats and lute playing wonder. this is not what he wants however as he joined the guild to become famous and make a name for himself. he is the third son of crime boss in a major city, unlike his brothers he was not strong and didn't really like training to fight and mostly managed to skip that sort of stuff. he was a little spoilt and managed to get his way most of the time, but his father put his foot down and put and end to Damakos skipping his lessons. this resulted in Damakos throwing a tantrum and running away from home (like most children do). on his childish runaway attempt he found an unattended cart which he fell asleep in the back of. when he woke up he was miles away from home, the owner of the cart had moved on, unwittingly taking the little tiefling with him. after freaking out Damakos began to rationalise his situation, he was away from home and his father, no one was now going to make him get in on the family business, he was free to do what he liked. he spent the next few years scamming/charming people out of money to survive which is when he caught the attention of a bard Elf. she found him amusing and saw that he had great potential to be a great bard so took him in. they formed a close friendship (like brother and sister) but during their travels along a mountain pass there was a landslide that separated the pair, in an attempt to not fall he grabbed onto his mentor's lute but only took that with him as he fell. luckily Damakos was found by some travelling heroes and was taken back to the hero's guild at Oakstone where he recovered and joined. he reckons that if he becomes a famous adventurer then his mentor will hear of him and they'll be reunited
planning on writing up the adventures of these two in story form so stay tuned

I did enjoy the one huw made up but it ended cos this one guy was blatantly cheating and no one wanted to play with him anymore but also no one wanted to call him on it. XD the norse one ended cos everyone got too busy, so we are trying again with a bought one huw heard good things about liking it so far XD

yeh he was kat's sister's husband and she was worried if we were like "look you are clearly cheating you keep getting 20s all the time" then it might turn into a huge awkward thing so we're just like "gunna phase out playing with them and start a new one and say is limited on how many people can join" which it is but because huw chose one like that XD
I was finding with the norse one I was inventing a lot of stuff in case they explored more and they just didn't XD but yeh I like making stuff up on the fly XD
