Description I'm going to be honest, when I first started drawing this picture my main goal was to try and get better with hands.
Also helped that with continuous field art pieces, that hands reaching out were really popular.
So I drew from reference on what a hand should look like, and just tried to make them as real as possible.
I then added in the charcoal background.... which was a huge mistake I first thought.
When I added the oil pastel (the only thing I thought could imitate human skin at the time), the charcoal background mixed with it.
It made this look a bit more messy than I planned.
It made the hands look dirty and uneven.
On second glance though, the pictured looked a bit more defined.

Also from with the second glance I took on the pic... the more I felt it had many meanings.
But every one of those meanings I think of always come back to one theme.
Liberation. (Had to google the right word)
You will always see the hand on the top right corner saving the two hands at the bottom center.
The hand on the right could represent God (or whatever Divine Being you know of) or just an ordinary human while the two hands could represent the viewer or the someone you know.
I mostly see it as a cry for help and the help being everyone that helped me reach this far in life.

Unfortunately for me this drawing came in at a moment that was possibly the worse for my family.
By the time this picture was finished.... my grandfather died to cancer.
I wasn't there for it at all, hell I was afraid of seeing my grandfather at the time, the last time I saw he didn't even recognize my mom, the only family that was willing to visit.
I was left in my house all alone while this was happening and my parents were at West Virginia, which made me feel like a piece of shit.
The experience was horrible for my mother, it was hurting her, it was hurting me seeing her like this.
My mother thought this was a representation of my grandfather now being led to Heaven by God, which I can see.

I left this picture should be left for interpretation for everyone.
Maybe you feel this picture is a message of someone saving someone else.
Maybe you feel this picture is a religious symbolism for someone being led into Heaven.
Or maybe you just three hands.

Sorry for the long post.

I see hands asking for help and another saving hand.
I know how you feel. It's a difficult time. He is resting and is in the arms of God.Β Β
