Steven's "Mom" was a Strong and Powerful Council Leader of the Crystal Gems.Raspberry Quartz was a very (literally) down to Earth gem RQ saw the beauty in anything just like Pezzottaite. RQ respected Gems as well as Humans equally. RQ was the General of the armies in case of Emergencies and was head of the Gem Military alongside Bismuth.RQ also has had plenty of human lovers in during their reside there. Seeing the Masculine appearance in Human Nature and mimicked it in one of his later reformations. Changing his pronouns and appearance permanently. Some gems still misgender him (even if he's dead now), especially homeworld gems. He later Meets Greg who he falls in love with. Greg didn't return the feelings at first, he was young man was more of a girl chaser. But once after going spending a few decades touring around as 'Greg Universe' until eventually cutting off his deal with Marty. Moving back to Beach City and lived in his van/ the barn for a while. He was encountered by the Crystal Gems. He first had a crush on Pezzottaite only to realize She's a fusion of gems IN love. Much of the Crystal Gems kind of disregarded Greg and tend to avoid him because they were too busy organizing their own peaceful colony, Except Raspberry Quartz. RQ began to hang out more with Greg only falling in love with him more. With his later years arriving Greg thought he was never going to find someone for him. It was slow but surely Greg began to feel the same way about Raspberry Quartz. It was until recently RQ gave up his physical form to give birth to Steven. He was so happy he was going to be able to help make life with his own body. Raspberry Quartz knew that leaving the Crystal Gems would hurt them but knew that IF the Diamonds were able to reach them, Steven would find a way to stop the fighting between the Diamonds.
