I'll start with info dumping about them together:

Scorch and Frostbyte named themselves after the way they died (also they're around the same age, both died in their 20's)

Not only do they both feel their respective temperatures, but their temperatures can be felt by others if they are close enough in proximity (for example, if you sat next to Frostbyte, you'd feel cold)

Since their respective temperatures are extremes, when the two of them are close to each other (or make physical contact), they actually bring relief to one another and balance out their temperatures. Imagine: Frostbyte is always miserably cold, so getting hugged by Scorch would finally allow them to feel warmth. Or the other way around: Scorch feels like he's always burning, so Frostbyte being able to tame his flames is a huge relief. They are able to ease each other's suffering

They do have some shared abilities, since they are both ghosts: living individuals can't see them unless they want people to, both can phase through walls, both can be corporeal or incorporeal by choice (so yes, they can interact with physical objects)

They can eat, but don't need to. (Scorch is upset that he can't have ice cream, because it always melts before he can eat it, and Frostbyte has a hard time enjoying things like hot chocolate since it's no longer hot by the time it gets to him lol)

They actually become really good friends over time. (They are polar opposites in some cases, but they have a lot of similarities as well)

They do hauntings together for fun sometimes (and maybe a little bit of petty revenge here and there)

Okay, now individual segments, starting with Frostbyte:

Frostbyte is non-binary, using he/they pronouns

They're a selective mute, always have been, even before he died

Frostbyte is both very lonely and has trust issues at the same time. Emotional bonds are hard.

Freezing to death alone on a mountain is bad enough, but to make it worse, it was originally supposed to be a fun trip with friends. They went to a log cabin with a few Buddies, and decided to go on a small hike. He did not return from the hike, as I'm sure you know.

For a while after he died, Frostbyte stayed on the mountain. Their soul is not trapped / bound to the mountain, but they don't know what to do or where to go. He feels that since none of his friends found him before he died, or at all, they probably don't care, so what's the point?

He lost his eye not too long before dying.

Though they don't speak much, when they do, their voice sounds quiet, weak, and distant.

Frostbyte eventually encounters a woman named "Sasha" hiking on the mountain. He expects her to be afraid of him, but she has little to no reaction other than slight startelement and curiosity. She's already encountered a ghost before, who's basically her roommate. She actually invites Frostbyte to stay at her home as well. Two ghost roomies! (Guess who the other one is)

Scorch was burned alive, y'all know that by now. But you may be wondering how that happened. After all, fire does come from a variety of sources, forest fires, electrical fires, car crashes, gender reveal parties hosted by crazy people- there are multiple possibilities! Well, sadly for Scorch, he died in a house fire.

He woke up in his burning apartment, trapped by debris.

The cause of the fire? His now ex-girlfriend. He doesn't fully know that at first

When Sasha finds out, she tries to break the news to him, but he's in real deep denial for a while. He just doesn't want to believe that someone he trusted so much would do something like that to him. He's always been very social and friendly and he tends to be a bit overly trusting.

When realization finally sets in… he doesn't take it well, to say the least.

His voice terrifies a lot of people. (I wish I had audio for this, but I don't so I'll just have to describe it to the best of my abilities.) His voice is very raspy and scratchy. It doesn't help that sometimes he'll stay invisible to people but start talking just to fuck with them.

Sasha is his adopted older cousin (she is also trans, cuz I said so)

That's all I can think of for now that isn't just straight-up spoiling a potential future comic. Of course this is early development stage for these characters, things are subject to change. But overall these are the basics. I'll probably elaborate on Sasha another time when I have a better idea for her character. I do have some ideas though!
