Description
These creatures are believed to have fallen from the sky following the Great Solar Eclipse of the Inner World. Not many people have come across one and those who have were never heard of ever again. These creatures live in unexplored caves of mountain ridge of Tsukhaar. It is said that the creatures cannot exist without darkness or shadow and therefore are put into the evil category usually compared to vampires or other species despite of their believed alien heritage. The mountain people often mentioned creatures that fit Ignii description as masters of hypnotism. They speculated that many who never returned were memorized by the unusual magenta flames covering the centaur's body which made the victims not flee but do quite opposite of that...winner of C.O.W

Well this was an entry to conceptart.org weekly creature challenge. It won so i was pretty happy
but basically we were supposed to take Tolkien's "shadow and flame" concept and completely redesign it and give our own interpretation of what shadow and flame creature would look like!

the purples works very nicely, the hue changed fire works nice too and is nicely integrated, nice work so, just, the fire, edited photo or a special trick?

That is splendid work dear boy! They remind me of Xenomorphs from Aliens... though, [this is my scientific nature talking...] if they are creatures that must exist in shadow, why do they possess flame? It's just me being interested is all, I find their background fascinating.

I like! This is awespiring, if that's how you spell it. And the description is so well planned, its like these things have their own place in our ancient history. Hats off to you, sir!
I especially like the way the flames are shown in the hollow of it's chest. That's great work! But i think the best thing i like about This piece is the way the light of the fire highlights the curves and muscles of the beast. I always have problems with lighting effects.
