before anybody asks NO HE'S NOT AN WATERDOGHE'S NOT EVEN A BAYFOX
i got him in the adopt of "waterdog" and i didn't know it was a closed species made by somebody (i just thought it was a unique conceptπ), and then i find out that there WAS a closed species called waterdogs so i asked the species owner should i pay for the MYO slot to keep him and thay said i can keep him but he's not a waterdog cuz it's unofficial
so...yeah! thats about it

if i'm gonna be honest here i think trademarking such an open/unoriginal concept is the dumbest thing ever. a water made out of dog shouldn't be a "closed species". i bet dogs made out of water was a concept way before the owner made them.Β

i agree po-kii. but then again, i don't agree with having any closed species honestly. charging people to make an oc just doesn't seem right. credit is one this but charging people? like, Sashley doesn't to pay toby fox for being a sans fan girl (just an example lol)
don't get me wrong, i believe in supporting artists 1000%Β
but i think there are better ways. idk i am pretty new to the art scene. so if i am wrong. i'm wrong.

itβs semi-open so you can make your own for free if you follow guidelines. just to prevent people from using super rare traits and whatnot.Β
Iβm talking about closed species that are ridiculously hard to obtain and are expensive to get a βmake your ownβ slot. danties charges a whopping $35 for you to make your own.
i think as long as the closed species is unique and you can tell that a lot of originality and thought was put into it then itβs fine to profit off of selling adopts of them. but if itβs a dumb and unoriginal concept like waterdogs and sushi dogs then thatβs just stupid.
